July 25, 20169 yr Yes! I did upgrade and all things appear to be running very well. The controllers, rudder pedals, everything is working jut as it did in Win7. If it wasn't for Mitch providing the basic instructions on how to do the upgrade properly I might not have done it at all. The only issue I ran into was that I could not connect from the client to server (Prepar3D) PC. After a few searches I found the best way to resolve the issue was to delete the HomeGroup settings: Solution 1 – Delete files from PeerNetworking folder Go to c:\windows\serviceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Roaming\PeerNetworking. Delete idstore.sst and move on to Step 3. ... Go to the Network Settings and Leave the Homegroup. Repeat this for all the computers in your network. Turn off your computers. I deleted the entire contents of the PeerNetworking folder on each of the PC's and started the client. When I selected the HomeGroup I was able to create a new password which I added to the server HomeGroup when that PC was started. I found the switch to Win 10 was remarkably easy and worth it. \Robert Hamlich/

July 26, 20169 yr I did the upgrade on my 3 year old laptop late last year, since then I have noticed a steady decline in perf even though it is equipped with an SSD. The laptop will not boot up anymore, might be a whole other issue like a virus or trojan. Win 10 has not been good to me on that front but I am looking forward to a new portable system from either Apple or MS. I am thinking about the MS Surface which has Win10 installed. The conversion for all of us is inevitable. I think laptops degrade in performance over time my laptop is ancient (still running on Vista but it takes like 10 sec just for the start menu to come up,no virus and no huge use of ram or cpu. I checked the cpu Temps and the damn thing idles at 55c and gets to 70c under load ATP MEL,CFI,CFII,MEI. Type Ratings B-737, ERJ-190,ERJ-170
July 26, 20169 yr my laptop is ancient You might have a lot of dust and lint in your cooling airflow passages. If you like the laptop it might be worth it to open her and inspect it. I have three W7 Lenovo T410 laptops that I am trying to decide whether I want to migrate to W10 to extend their life. They are working so well now I hate to mess with whats working good.
