P3D Shadow problem?

Recommended Posts

I believe this may be from my LOD radius setting but the shadows seem to appear/disappear as I look? Here's some pics. http://imgur.com/a/18pzT You can see what I am talking about in the 3 sets of pictures as I move my head up.

Are you using PTA?. Which version?. Have you checked in the "Clouds Shadows Depth" option?.

If you don't know it, you're not using it, then!. So, no solutions from that side.

Pretty sure this has to do with the shadow distance vs. your LOD settings. Try setting the draw distance to max, test and if you don't see it appear/disappear, try lowering the distance until it becomes more bearable.

I'm not on my home PC at the moment so I can't give specific settings :-)

Was there a solution? Using TrackIR I see the same. moving my head moves also the angle of wich shadows are thrown. I see that when flying in the mountain and one hill throws a shadow on another. This shadow starts to move while I move my head.

Yeah One of my worst gripe which why I never turn on shadows, the issue appear w/wo track ir, as I don't have it, when panning around, shadows skewed and stretching related to my eyepoint position and is a really breaking immersion, so no shadows for me until anyone can find a fix or workaround
