PMDG_744V3_NoseGearTD3.wav missing

Featured Replies

I just happened to look in my debug_log.txt file and saw that I had this error.

Creating systems:
01 02 03 Can't access WAV file: 0 (Sound\PMDG/744V3/Various/PMDG_744V3_NoseGearTD3.wav)

And after checking the various folder the TD3 file is indeed missing.

Is it something on my side or did it get left out?

Hi Kristoffer,

Thanks for the information - good catch!

This is a minor issue that will be fixed in the next update.

Does it mean we can't hear the nose gear bump at landing?

James Goggi

Hi James,

Most likely not - there are TEN nose touchdown sounds - one is randomly chosen for the landing - so its a 1/10 chance.

Dont confuse this with the nose wheel "bump" sounds which playback while on the ground - there are THIRTY different sounds in the pool, randomly chosen and stitched together.

Wow, that leaves me speechless  :shok:

But until the update is ready, can we copy one of the nosegear sound files and rename it to the missing wav?

Regards,

Victor Quebec

Hehe James! Its same with many other elements of the audio - for example, the cockpit shaking sounds are also a pool of thirty sounds - each one recorded from the real aircraft and stitched together in random fashion .... and the playback volumes of the shaking sounds depend on the conditions that trigger them, so even their loudness is dynamically controlled.  With this and the other sound features mean that every flight you ever make will give you a unique audio experience.

But until the update is ready, can we copy one of the nosegear sound files and rename it to the missing wav?

Victor,

I wouldn't recommend it - we make updates via the operation centre these days, so you will get the new file much sooner than on previous PMDG releases.  The missing file will not impact your flight or the stability of the sim.
