CTD after pausing 747 P3DV3

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Had been in the middle of a trip from PANC - VHHH after about 8 hrs sim and 747 (P3D) performing very well. decided to goto bed for the night and so paused the sim (P3D V3).

Came back in the morning and the sim had CTD, has anyone else had the same, ideas would be welcomed, this has happened twice now. 747 and P3D work faultlessly if i do a flight non stop its only when its paused overnight.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a memory leak (somewhere in the sim), but without knowing your exact scenario I can't forward it along to be tested to see where the issue lies. We did a TON of testing with VHHH specifically, so it shouldn't be our leak, but I won't rule that out.

EDIT: To be extra sure, make sure to check the event logs.

Start > begin typing "view all problem reports" (it may appear before you're done typing - select it when it appears) > Find the sim in the list > Find the latest entry and open it

Paste the contents in your response.

EDIT 2: What NVIDIA drivers are you running? Their latest drivers do have a memory leak associated with them.

Thanks Kyle,

Will have a look after work today. FYI at the time i had ORB FTX Global, FTX Vector, trees and P3DV3 generic PANC and VHHH. the flight was uneventful until TOD where it paused and i left it till the morning, It had been paused for 7 hrs or so when i went back to my room and it was CTD.

Ill post other details later this evening. many thanks.

The event log reveals that the PMDG modules are not causing the problem, you have one buffer exception and a stack error.  These can be cause by any add on you're using so start back with a vanilla configuration and start adding things until it crashes.

Also, make sure you are up to date with anything that gets added such as orbx libraries, couatl engine, weather engine, etc.
