Hi All

I have this fabulous Aerosoft aircraft in FSX

I wanted to fly it in my P3D setup for which it was not intended!

Moved all the files I could see across and there it is flying and intact BUT with an opaque windscreen-everything else OK

Is there anything more I could do?

Yes there is but for the life of me I can't remember what it is. I'll take a look. I'll be back. (mine works perfectly in P3D 3.4)

I'm back. Is there a texture.cfg in the texture folders? That's my best guess. I installed mine using Poppet's(Elaine's) walk through (search the P3D forum here on AVSIM)

Nearest I could find was Poppets creation of a fake FSX file in P3D

There is one sort of functioning cockpit -with a fixed view -flyable just!

In all of the paint folders there should be a file named texture.cfg. If not, open notepad and paste the following into it:

 

[fltsim]

fallback.1=..\texture
fallback.2=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture
fallback.3=..\..\..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture

 

save it to your desktop as texture.cfg. When you see the file it will be called texture.cfg.txt. Rename it by getting rid of the .txt. Now put it into each of your DA20 paints folders.

 

If that's too 'techie' for you then as you say, Ah well.

Found the texture.cfg in FSX!

Copied it to P3D Textures file-no go

In Katana DA-20 cannot find a Paint folder

Document,model,panel,sound and texture files etc

So annoying because just before the windscreen goes opaque-it momentarily shows the clear view-I am so nearly there!

PS Virtual cockpit view gives a clear view

Oh dear. In the Diamond DA20-100 'Katana' folder you will see a bunch of folders named 'texture.C-GDAI' etc. THAT is a paint folder.

Thank you :smile:   We're in contact, and after the minor misunderstanding with file names was resolved, it looks like we'll have no problem sorting his issue out.

 

I remember when I didn't know much about the FS 'guts and innards', and got some great help from patient simmers on this here forum.....  so my turn to 'stump up'.

Hi Guys, I also have the wonderful Aerosoft DA20 for FSX and would love to fly it in P3DV4.5. Is there anyone who could help me achieve this?
