There’s too many wires to run out and have a BU0836x elsewhere other than inside that box. Bu0836x costs $50, unless there’s one laying around, like mine (LOL). But if you don’t have a spare one, buying a stand alone Saitek TQ ($60) is the better option.
May 10, 20215 yr A friend of mine had a Saitek controller that used the same interconnection for the throttle. In his case, the cable wasn’t damaged, it became lost when he moved house. We were able to find a mini-DIN/PS2 cable on Amazon for $9 that worked fine as a replacement. I recently upgraded my Saitek yoke to a Fulcrum yoke so needed to find a way to temporarily use the Saitek 'PS2' TQ while I wait for Fulcrum to come out with their TQ. I had an Arduino Leonardo lying around so I used that as explained here .The Leonardo is one of the few Arduinos with a built in USB signal interface. If necessary you can buy a Leonardo from Aliexpress or Banggood for less than $10. Since you can't lose the Saitek's TQ's cable since it is hard wired into the TQ, are you saying there are other types of Saitek controllers that are made to plug into the Saitek Yokes PS2 port? Didn't know that. Al It was an X52 (several years old) yes, the cable definitely plugged in at both the throttle and the joystick ends. The USB cable from the joystick to computer was hardwired, but not the throttle to joystick. Simplest -- yes, but perhaps not convenient, depending on space, or keeping the yoke may not fit in with plans one has for it, like passing it on to a young grandson! 😉 Al
