February 21, 20179 yr Moderator This guy has a pretty interesting project using a world2xlpane to add just some basic scenery enhancements to the default landclass based scenery. Things like churches, piers with boats, chimneys, and some of the OSM forests seem to go a long way to improving the look of x-plane. Always love to see people using W2XP in the way I originally designed it to be used (To be played with). Thanks for the video link. The beauty of landclass + autogen is the way it responds to ambient lighting like this, at all hours of the day, and also looks great at night when all those streets light up with lamp posts and car headlights. +1, one huge advantage of landclass+autogen over orthos, it reacts to light correctly. (Well apart from the glowing trees in XP11).

Yeah .. the glowing trees have annoyed me since the first beta (and I added this bug early in to the bug database) ... Its "simply" a rendering engine bug which can be fixed ... but is just another point in an excessive list of bugs / issues Laminar needs to work on. But I am sure, that this fix alone will bring us another nice (an recognizable) step in the right direction when it comes to great visuals ..-. Man, this should really be higher up their list of fixes. The glowing trees look terrible and are a big reason I'm still sticking with XP10. Such an immersion breaker for me.
