FeelThere/Wilco 737

Featured Replies

All:I have spent an inordinate amount of time the last week or so trying to make this thing work. I have been to the forum, downloaded the patch, and the same irritating problems persist. The gold standard for 737s is of course the Dreamfleet 737-400. The feelthere/Wilco 737 is clearly not a product to the same level of quality. The FDE is squirrely at best, especially on short final. The patch did nothing to correct that. VNAV is incapable of handing the descent in most cases and "disconnects". The instruments are difficult to read, particularly the QNH. The only way to set the altimeter is to go to VC and put my eyeball right up against the guage and adjust the altimeter setting. The "manual" is an insult to the intelligence of serious Fsimers and clearly illustrates the arrogant attitude held by some (few) pilots with respect to the flightsim community. I purchased this product to permit me to use FS 9 with a modern Boeing aircraft like the 737. I had been using the DF 727 exclusively. However, after dropping big bucks on this I am back to the 727. Maybe 3 or 4 patches down the road this product may be useable, but it certainly is not so at the moment.Just to fix ideas, I rarely post in any forums but I have been 'simming for 10 years now and my logbook shows 9200 hours so I am not an inexperienced user. I felt motivated to post on this as I haven't seen an initial release of a payware aircraft so bad as this since the 320 PIC, coincidentally by the same outfit. When compared with such outstanding products as the PSS 320, LVLD 767, or DF 727, this 737 is sadly lacking. Caveat emptor.JS

Wow,I have had the PIC 737 since release date and absolutely could not DISAGREE with you more. The one thing I DO agree with though is the manual stinks. The author (Mike Ray) has some outstanding manuals available but the packaged one is indeed a sales brochure for his retail books.

JS:I agree that the manual is worthless. Wilco included it in order to push the larger, more complete one. As for your problems: I'm sure someone has posted a solution somewhere on the feelthere forum. Also, knowing Feel There, I suspect that they will continue to support their products. ricardo

Wilco is the distributor--I don't believe Feelthere released the 320 PIC, but they have released CRJ and Embraer products. Other than that I cannot comment on this aircraft. There was a spirited discussion a while back but since I am not an expert on the 737 I couldn't tell a qualified comment from one that wasn't. I would suggest that you include your name below your posts, at least your first name. It makes it easier for others to respond and sometimes when a thread raises challenges like these, replies from others will sound pretty cold if they just quote you without calling you by name. Just a suggestion.-John

I agree with you this product is just awful i have not even found the faults you talk about i did'nt even bother taking off as my frame rates were jumping all other the place sometimes 20fps dropes madness the outside model is awful to. its said really that true simmers can only have faith in a very small amount of companys PMDG,LevelD are mine and of course Flight1 727 and thats it i cant fly rubbish like this with these well made prodects in my hanger

That's pretty harsh words there Uncle, sure it has issues but it's not that bad, could be great IMO...
Randy J. Smith
AMD 64 4000+|ASUS K8V DELUXE|SAPPHIRE ATI X800XT PE|MUNCHKIN 3200|80 gig SATA|DELL 1905FP 19" LCD|TRACKir PRO|PFC JEPPESEN MOONEY YOKE|CH PRO PEDALS|

Nah its not that bad but its not that good either. Cant put my finger on it but for some reason I feel Im flying a slightly polished version of the default 737. Maybe its the blaaa drab cockpit and external look. Dunno but its one I do not hardly fly anyone which is sad since Ive only had it a short time.

I've patched the 737PIC and was going to give it a go tonight, but Dreamfleet released the 727 service pack on the same day...talk about a late Christmas. :)The 737's got a lot of potential, even with all the bugs (which, at least on my system, seem concentrated in the autopilot and the weather radar). Let's see how many of them SP 1 squished.Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia

True they are harsh words but i'm sick of us the customers being beta testers we the customer deserve better like Dreamfleets 727 i got that a couple of weeks after its release and found it to be perfect Dreamfleet must of tested it before selling it theres a good idea

Tested the DF 727?ROTFLMAO. We, (the beta team) tested, tested, tested, tested, tested, tested and tested some more!!!The DF727 is the most tested beta I have ever been involved with, and trust me, althought it is NOT perfect, (nothing is), it's pretty darned close!Oh, and the new release for the 727 . .. we tested that as much or more also! DF, and Paul G are interested in 'no faults' . . . the way every other developer SHOULD BE. And, THEY LISTEN TO THEIR BETA TESTERS, NOT JUST PLAY LIP SERVICE TO THEM. It is a pleasure to work with DF and Paul. BestClayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Dopke (Clay)Major, USAF (retired)"Drac"
