From the VOZ Team - a big THANK YOU!!

22,172 downloads and counting. To say we are humbled, excited, flabbergated, amazed, appreciative and ENCOURAGED would all be understatements.Think about these numbers for a minute. We launched a day early on Dec 23rd. Since then we have had over a million hits to our official website, 627 members registerd on the VOZ forums making over 1,200 posts and creating dozens of videos, hundreds of screenshots .... in just over a week or so. All this happened while I was on vacation, but the VOZ team members have held the fort and answered any questions users had. All in all, apart from a few leftover rogue files from the beta, it was a bug-free launch and for what is essentially beta code we released after 8 weeks work, we're estatic that the FS community have embraced our beautiful country and are eager for more. And more will come, and soon.Version 1.1 is now in development and will feature more wonderful textures with even more detail (0.99 was beta remember?), more awesome scenery by talented designers, more autogen and some of the most detailed CBD city areas ever seen in FS2004.We are pushing FS9 to its limits and are going to create something special over the next 12 months before FSX is out. We're releasing the VOZPlugs SDK late this month so that anyone who can use EZ-Scenery and LWMViewer can join in. We're also going to be featured on the cover CD of the March 2006 issue of PC PILOT for all those dial-up people who want a CD release. And stand by for lots more videos, reviews and interviews of the development team. And there's lots more to come I can't talk about right now ;)But once again, the VOZ Team salutes you and THANKS YOU. P.S. (If you have not downloaded our baby yet, it's VOZ099.ZIP from the ASVIM library.)

Absolutely stunning job m8 :) Totally transformed the boring default Aus scenery for me, something the sim has been hurtin for! Qantasing has never been so much fun and I also find myself cluttering around @ low level in the helos harassing roos :(Top drawer prog. Mad respect to you & the Vista Australis team :)

Absolutely Fantastic scenery..Made me think about emigrating:) :) best wishes steve

Dare I ask :- will you go payware? I don't ask this in a cynical way and I wouldn't blame you if you did. The quality is certainly up to it. If only some other parts of the FS world were like your VOZ setup!! Anyway, congratulations on a superb addon.. . . and freeware too!

------------------------------------------Dare I ask :- will you go payware?------------------------------------------Your question is answered in the PDF help file :)...and yes you will be happy when you read it!

Your scenery is so good that now I want to move to Australia. Of course from this height you can't see spiders ;).Thank you, awesome job, imo a benchmark for all scenery creators, freeware or not!

I believe the thanks goes to you and your group. Outstanding work.

"Your question is answered in the PDF help file"Confession: Sorry Squire, I didn't read the PDF file properly!

Interesting questions; firsly, I've been approached by many people wanting to make VOZ commercial and my answer is a firm NO. Partly because I am only a piece of the puzzle, and other people's intellectual property is being used in VOZ; and *mostly* because I wanted this to be a community-led project, which it's turned out to be in spades.I guess we are showing the payware developer what can be done with sweat and hard work, and that the bar has been raised a little eh?I think however, we will be allowing people to donate to the VOZ project so that our costs are covered, and that those who are adding scenery to it can be compensated in some small measure. But again, this will be completely non-obligatory and in no-way will be payware. As for future Koorby payware projects? Can't talk about that right now ;)Secondly, the 1.1 release (there will be 1.0) will be a patch/incremental release, and much smaller than 0.99. I expect it to be about 10-15MB. Mind you, there's going to be a LOT of content in 1.1, so it may grow a little. Thanks again for your kind words everyone, it's really appreciated.

Bah !!!Just tried it !! Absolutely incredible effort !! - Thanks so much gang !!RegardsEddy (North Wales - UK)

it be great in future releases you could consider buildings etc at major cities, like brisbane, melbourne, adelaide, perth, cairns etc etc.

Hey, you made an outstanding job making this kindda UT for Australia. Some of your textures appear in other parts of the world too. Mostly I like them, but for some reason the red roads keep on appearing in places they were not before and that IMO they shouldn't be. Can you point me which is the bmp for those red roads, I will try to change them to their original state. Thanks a lot, and please don't misunderstand me, I love your job, it is just the red roads I want to get rid of.Leo

Just "UNVOZ" in the switcher before flying in other parts of the world and your original roads will be reinstated :)
