I can't remember where I read it , but I did see a first impressions review on one of the FS news sites. It wasn't good, but in fairness, this is really a public beta. For better or worse, this paid public beta thing seems to becoming a trend.

I was a very early adopter of UT. I bought UT Classic the day it was released, and I did the same with UT2. I think I'm going to wait on this one for a while.

In addition, I still think UT2 is great. It just needs some updates.

Works beautifully, with little or no impact on fps and vas, AI aircraft also behave in a much more realistic way.

There's an extensive discussion on the P3D forum.

How do you get actually better detailed aircraft in ut2?

Have they, by any chance, improved the appearance of the AI aircraft as some of the models could do with a facelift?

UT2 always had the best models, and in my opinion, still do. Unlike other AI packages I could mention where the gear disappears and leaves the aircraft floating along the taxiway. UT Live also appears to be taking the "AI Controller" route, whereby AI aircraft follow SIDS and STARS, and although it's still technically in beta, UT Live is head and shoulders above the competition.
