May 15, 20179 yr I've been comparing graphic cards all weekend and within my budget I keep switching back and forth between 2 cards... This card is, of course, meant for the new 64-bit sims. My first sim is P3D, I'm curious about FSW and who knows I'll get a copy of X-plane in the future, so let's say the card is for alround flight simming. I've had both brands before and have been pleased with both, so I've been pleased with both brands and I dont have a preference to help me out, so I'd like to know what others think about what would be best. https://www.alternate.co.uk/MSI/GeForce-GTX-1080-Gaming-Xplus-8G-Graphics-card/html/product/1344272?event=search or https://www.alternate.co.uk/GIGABYTE/GeForce-GTX-1080-Xtreme-Gaming-Premium-Pack-Graphics-card/html/product/1286668?event=search Both are pretty close, main difference is that the MSI has a bit higher memory speed and the Gigabyte bit higher CPU speed, so to make it a little easier, which speed is most important memory or CPU? Cheers! Maarten

On my system (no overclock involved) the second one was running pretty hot so I went and replaced it with first one, I'm very happy now, smooth, no noise no stutters at all on P3D. BR Alex That's a good point. I know MSI uses militairy grade componants that can handle the high and low end of the temperature scale better. Cheers! Maarten
May 16, 20179 yr Performance wise, they will be so close, any difference will not be noticeable. So it ultimately comes down to noise and temps, and the MSI cards tend to come out on top. My current 980ti is an MSI, and it's been cool and quiet, as expected. I'm picking up a 1080ti soon, and it'll be another MSI, from all the reviews I've seen. Hope that helps. Happy Flying, Captain Z
