May 19, 20179 yr Nice to see I'm not the only one who has done some serious reading and research on the 214 and Col. Boyington. My journey into the Corsair and the 214 started with the tv series. I enjoyed the show, mostly for the aircraft as the story lines often made little sense for a combat unit, but it did start what has become a life-long love affair with the Corsair. Given the number of airworthy FG-1D's (and one F4U-1A), which could easily be painted to look like F4U-1A's, in the U.S., coupled with CGI graphics, I really wish a true telling of the story of VMF-214 would be made by Hollywood. But, seeing what they like to do (CHiPs movie... barf!), it might be worse than the tv series. My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.
