AI and Traffic Performance in V4 - Optimized?

According to JV at Orbx, the AI traffic and ground traffic have been optimized and have very little FPS / perf impact in V4. His words were 'crank it to the max' or similar.

Can other V4 users confirm this observation?

I presume this relates to default AI? I am more concerned what custom AI aircraft added through AIFP will and won't work.

My partially informed impression is that the formatting of traffic BGL files remains unchanged in P3d V4. The performance  improvements  stem from two changes. First, the use of the CPU for the AI aircraft threads has been changed  and optimized. Second, the "bookkeeping" code used to keep track of AI aircraft has been improved. We shall see.

This came from JV at Orbx. Why would he be using default AI?

Besides, default ai performs considerably worse than ai specific models.

Well, what AI is he using?

I am aware that default AI is a larger drain on performance, but at least it will be compatible. What I am referring to is whether models such as FAIB, The Fruit Stand, UTT, AI Aadrvark etc will work in P3D v4.

Why wouldn't AI models work in v4? The models don't rely on any .dll

At a minimum JV would be using the FTX AI packages

Cool, I hope you're right, although posts elsewhere suggest otherwise so I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

I would like to think that the strange behaviour of some AI planes after loading has been resolved, but I doubt that will be the case.
