  1. Many thanks Aime, much appreciated!
  2. Hello Aime Thanks very much for your efforts here. I am keen to give TEP a try but I am having trouble downloading the 4K version using Chrome or Edge. Everytime I click on the "create download" link it takes me to various different websites that have nothing to do with flightsim. Is it possible to send a torrent link please?
  3. I have the global package and it is spread over 4 x 5TB drives. In my set-up Europe and Africa share a 5TB drive and it is virtually full. Management of the files is very straitforward. Each country is a folder, each containing a Texture and Scenery folder, just like any other scenery. Just install/activate as required. I use Lorbys Addon Organiser to group the countries into zones and activiate as needed. US states and Canadian provinces are all separate files so you can group them as needed without activating the whole land mass (ie if you are flying Atlanta-Miami, you don't need California activated, thereby reducing strain on your system. One piece of advice - if you are using AIG, AIGTC scans you system for airports every time it starts. FC Scenery contains literally millions of .bgl files and AIGTC needs to scan them to see if they are airports, so the start-up process takes an eternity. I have my FC Scenery files on external drives plugged into a powered hub. I switch them off. Upon start-up I activate AIGTC manually, then after it is running, then I switch on the hard-drives I need, then activate P3D. Once P3D is live, I inject the AI using the AIGTC interface and I am good to go.
  4. Thanks very much for including P3D. I'm keen to give this a try....
  5. After your re-install, did you remember to move your traffic slider from the default 0% to at least 70% to get decent coverage? Have you got the AIGTC setting to include AIGFP files? Are you trying different airports at various times?
  6. Can confirm, was at KMIA earlier and the AA 737-800w aircraft were blacked out. This is odd as it is hardly an obscure airline, surely P3D textures were in existence prior to this?
  7. Do it the other way around. When the OCI is looking for a manual download, it will open up a window where the zip-file should be. In my install it is just a folder on my hard-drive where I save the files. Drag the zip-file from your downloads folder to wherever the OCI is looking for them. If necessary re-name the file to exactly what the OCI is looking for, otherwise it won't find it.
  8. The Avsim Library seems to be up and working? But yes, Flightsim.com is closed at this time. The AIG forum is generally the best place for advice, when you say it didn't work out, what was the problem?
  9. Great tip, I'd never seen that. Thank you
  10. Ray, perhaps this could be pinned for future reference as people migrate to the newer video cards please?
  11. Thanks for the heads-up....
  12. Personally, I think that in order to keep P3D relevant, it needs to evolve with major international hubs that come on line. Two that come to mind are the new Badgerys Creek Airport that will be Sydney's main gateway before long, and also Dubai World Central.
  13. I've just explored this and found the same problem. I've done a bit of digging on the LatinVFR forum and their advice is that LatinVFR folder they refer to is only a placeholder. There are only two files required for the fix - spotlebl_s.fx and spotkbwi_2fx both of which should appear in your P3Dv5/effects folder. I have checked mine and the two files have appear there after running the auto-instal. I haven't checked personally yet, but other posts on the LatinVFR forum suggest this has fixed the night lighting.
  14. From their Facebook page - We are pleased to announce that FSHud - Traffic, a new built-in traffic source for FSHud - Air Traffic Control, is planned for release in the next few days. FSHud - Traffic will bring both live traffic and scheduled traffic directly into FSHud - Air Traffic Control, without requiring any additional installation. It will work with any installed traffic model package and will provide a more realistic and dynamic traffic environment directly through FSHud - Air Traffic Control. The live traffic system will provide coverage of approximately 80% of live commercial flights, with traffic data refreshed every minute. This will allow FSHud - Air Traffic Control to use real-world live flights as part of the simulator traffic environment, reflecting aircraft that are actually flying in the real world at that time. In addition to live traffic, FSHud - Traffic will also include scheduled commercial traffic by airport. This will include most commercial arrivals and departures, synchronized with live traffic to provide realistic airport activity even where live traffic coverage is not available. FSHud - Traffic will also support traffic based on the selected Flight Simulator time. When this option is used, schedules and a live traffic snapshot matching the selected simulator time will be used, allowing users to fly with traffic that better fits their selected time of day. The feature will be compatible with MSFS 2024, MSFS 2020, Prepar3D v4, v5, and v6. It will also be possible to combine FSHud - Traffic with other traffic sources, allowing users to use it as the main traffic source or as an additional traffic source together with their existing setup. Due to intensive cloud usage and live traffic provider costs, FSHud - Traffic will be available as a monthly subscription for 2.90 USD per month, with a free 1-week trial available for every user with an FSHud - Air Traffic Control license, including legacy licenses purchased from distributors such as Flight1 and Aerosoft. An active internet connection will be required at all times while using FSHud - Traffic. FSHud - Traffic is expected to be released in the next few days.
  15. Hi I have Orbx Global and all regions installed on P3Dv6 but de-activated via Lorby's Addon Manager as I tend to use FC Scenery imagery instead. However FC Scenery does not cover Russia. So I intend to re-activate Orbx LC Europe Zone OLC_EU3 only and also Orbx Global Base, just for Russia. Could someone please advise how I idenitfy which files in Orbx Global base I should re-active when flying over Russia, rather than activating the whole product? Many thanks Ian
  16. On the rare occasion I've needed support from P3D/Lockheed Martin, its always been dealt with promptly and professionally. No need to buy another licence. I think you'll find that they haven't blocked your licence key, but you caused it to be blocked as you didn't follow instructions which is to uninstall and de-activate the existing set-up through your Control Panel prior to trying to re-install it. So yes, they will need to re-set your account. Give it a day or so. have you checked your spam?
  17. Ray f9 is the VC viewpoint, f11 is the external view of the aircraft. Matt - its a bit difficult to say on the information provided, but broadly speaking, something is creating extra strain on your video card when in f11, but I'm sure you've worked that out. I have only seen this at busy airports where there is a lot of AI in the background, then if I spin the viewpoint around so an empty runway is in the background, the FPS increases. Perhaps you could name the airport and aircraft and someone may be able to replicate the issue or otherwise?
  18. Nice one Ray, yes I seem to be on a perpetual tour as well, rather than ad-hoc flights. I must give Radar Contact a go. cheers Ian
  19. Thanks Ray, some success. After some tweaking it became apparent that SODE was now working fine on P3Dv6, however not at the airport I use for a lot of testing, Imaginesim WSSS. However, i have now fixed the problem and have jetways at WSSS. For the benefit of others, I located the SODE/xml folder and created duplicates of the files, ImagineSim_WSSS2_PD5_GP.xml & ImagineSim_WSSS2_PD5_Stands.xml and renamed the copies ImagineSim_WSSS2_PD6_GP.xml & ImagineSim_WSSS2_PD6_Stands.xml Within those new files, I adjusted every <TargetSim ID="P3Dv5" entry to <TargetSim ID="P3Dv6" for each gate. Job done. Ian
  20. Sounds like the Windows 24H2 update which created a number of issues for certain aircraft, notably TDS and Aerosoft products. Again, it was the wings that were affected.
  21. Hi Ray When I try and run a second install, I am basically prompted to run a repair or replacement of the existing instal in C:\Program Files (x86)\12bPilot\SODE . It doesn't seem to give the option for a second install. I've re-ran everything, SODE is working fine in v5 but no jetways in v6, nor the red X, just nothing. I've checked the add-ons.cfg in v5 it states [Package.0] PATH=C:\Program Files (x86)\12bPilot\SODE\P3Dv5 TITLE=SODE ACTIVE=true REQUIRED=false and v6 it states [Package.0] PATH=C:\Program Files (x86)\12bPilot\SODE\P3Dv6 TITLE=SODE ACTIVE=true REQUIRED=false In those respective folders there are identical .xml files apart from <AddOn.Description>SimObject Display Engine P3Dv5 (c) 12bPilot</AddOn.Description> <AddOn.Component> <Category>EXE</Category> <Path>..\SimObjectDisplayEngine.exe</Path> <CommandLine>P3Dv5</CommandLine> <AddOn.Description>SimObject Display Engine P3Dv6 (c) 12bPilot</AddOn.Description> <AddOn.Component> <Category>EXE</Category> <Path>..\SimObjectDisplayEngine.exe</Path> <CommandLine>P3Dv6</CommandLine> and and in the UI both are shown as "registered" and "active" so they appear a complete mirror install but one works and the other doesn't. Interestingly, I checked the logs as you suggested , the start states the same for both, notably "Targetting platform [P3Dv5]" I suspect that is the issue, just need to work out how to change the "targetting platform" for P3Dv6 [18:55:00.665] INFO : SODE Version '1.8.0' [18:55:00.665] INFO : Targetting Platform [P3Dv5] [18:55:00.673] DEBUG SODE.SETTINGS : All Settings successfully read. 22. Sorry, quick update, I've just realised that I had SODE v1.8 installed, it must have snuck in with an airport install or something. Anyway, that simplifies my question and I have adjusted the topic title - any tips for getting SODE working in P3Dv6? It appears in my addons.cfg and I have registered and activated it on the SODE interface, but no jetways are appearing, any ideas? thanks
  23. Hi Just wondering if anyone has a solution for running SODE in both P3Dv5 & 6 on the same computer? I have SODE v1.7 installed currently, working fine for P3D v5. However I can't see any jetways in P3Dv6 after activating SODE. The latest online conversation I can find suggests SODE v1.8 is required for P3Dv6, but I have read it caused problems in P3Dv5. However when I try and install SODE v1.8 it seeks to over-ride v 1.7. In summary how can I have both SODE versions installed and applied to the effective P3D platforms? cheers
  24. I stand to be corrected, but I believe it is something to do with the fact that there two ways to add scenery, one through the P3D interface and also through the xml file method. So if you see a gap in the sequence then that is because the scenery holding that place was installed through the other method.
  25. Hi all, I just wanted to share some news that Fernando Correa, who is the creative talent behind FC Scenery has had some bad news regarding his ongoing health issues. Unfortunately he is desperately short of the funds needed for his life-saving medication. He tells his story in the following link - https://www.fcscenerys.com/aboutme-medical-aid-from-peru If you are considering investing in some FC Scenery products or can help out Fernando , now would be a good time to do it. cheers Ian
