Yesterday at 08:47 AM1 day Hello P3D enthusiasts, I'm back after a very long absence. To give you some context, I created TreeX and Picnic for FSX. Those of you who have been around for a while will recognize me.My global ground texture project for P3D & FSX is now at version 4. It comes in two resolutions: 4K with 25 cm/pixel and 1K with 1 meter per pixel (P3D/FSX's native resolution).Furthermore, I've taken advantage of the ability to add texture packs to the landclasses produced by SceneryTech. The advantage is having TEPv4 installed as the base pack, which provides textures specific to the regions covered by their landclasses.I've also added a new lclookup.bgl file to TEP, which significantly reduces the patchwork effect on slopes. This file was created using Arnaud Claire's utility (thanks again!) and the AI Claude. After about twenty files and hours of testing, I finally found a satisfactory version.I've placed all the download links in two PDF files: a 4K version and a 1K version, which I'm making available to the community. As always with TEP, I've made sure to maintain integration with ORBX products.PDF for 1K versionPDF for 4K versionRead the installation procedure carefully because there is a batch file to run for each pack.Friendly, Aimé for ALeclercqCreations Edited yesterday at 08:51 AM1 day by Leclercq A. Any specific Orbx global range product it doesn't work with (e.g. buildings HD, TerraFlora V2, OpenLC)?TEP is made to work with Global Orbx and vectors ;-). TEP is automatically merged. Building HD, TerraFlora compatible. OpenLC do the same job : the order in the library determines which one takes precedence over the other. 13 hours ago13 hr This looks really nice....but the download is very confusing and hard to figure out.
13 hours ago13 hr First, thanks to Aime for all the hard work. The textures are quite good.My observations and comments:I can't find the lclookup.bgl in the TEP_V4 basepack. I wouldn't use it as I use ORBXs modified one, but it's not in the TEP 1K download.Scenery Tech landclass is generally not very good. In most cases the stock landclass is actually better. I've spent quite a bit of time recently and in the past checking various areas of the world not covered by ORBX openLC with the different Scenery Tech landclasses, and they either make little to no difference, or make the scenery less realistic. This is with P3Dv5 and P3Dv6. Perhaps it's better than FSX stock landclass. With the stock landclass, the TEPv4 textures work well in India, but not as well as the ORBX Global base textures in China and Russia. However, it's important to note that I had to modify certain textures class to better address the shortcomings of these add-ons. I used Google Earth to help me achieve the most realistic representation. There are still some inconsistencies that I couldn't fix without creating other inconsistencies elsewhere. I had to make compromises. You can't compare the landclasses on their own without my textures in place. This is why I created and remapped textures specific to these landclasses, as explained in point 2.FriendlyAimé AiméMy Youtube channel Windows 10 Professionnel 64-bit / MS-7917 / 16384MB RAM / ATI Radeon RX590 8GB Vram / SyncMaster B2430L / SyncMaster 2333SW / LG ULTRAWIDE / Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 / Yüsmart JT198x7-1 / Flight Yoke System / Saitek Pro Flight Switch Panel + Trottle quadran / Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals / Trackir5
