Well informed write-up, thanks. Whilst the pots on my Saitek yoke are fine I have two on the throttle quadrants that spike at certain points. Saitek probably used the cheapest nastiest ones they could source so their kit didn't last too long and users would have to buy again.

Agreed but I'm a little sceptical given the cost of each unit is $200.

Hall effect sensors don't necessarily mean that it's going to be expensive - look at the Thrustmaster T.1600M joystick. You can buy it for around £45 in the UK. Not exactly bargain-basement but certainly not expensive.

I came to that conclusion because PFC had a premium of $150 for Hall-effect sensors over pots. But that's PFC whose prices seem exorbitant.

I agree. The market really needs a reconfigurable, decent-quality quadrant at a realistic price. Let's hope that this is the one. The MFG Crosswind pedals have already shown that a small manufacturer can produce a high quality product at a price which significantly undercuts the "professional" end of the market (and is, arguably, better designed).

There is an enormous hole in the market. At the bottom end you have Saitek and CH (£200-400) and the top end is PFC with a yoke and throttle quadrant costing £2500. I'm sure there are plenty who would pay up to £500-700 for quality kit that has plenty of buttons and a hat switch.

Goflight are the only company occupying the middle ground but I've never been enamoured with their throttle quadrant.

The Yoko yoke looks pretty good but if you need extra buttons it's a non-starter. And there's no matching throttle quadrant for a four-engine jet.

This Honeycomb kit appears to be a decent combination of higher quality plus plenty of buttons at a reasonable price. Let's hope it meets our expectations.

@vortex681, I was unaware of the MFG pedals so thanks for the mention. They look a nice alternative to my plastic but utterly reliable CH Pro Pedals.

@Ray: I agree with that enormous hole. That is why I am going to make my own yoke. It will be fully balled with bearings, halled with sensors and oiled with dampers. And plenty of switches sprinkled on top. That will be the first yoke with dampers, I think. Design is almost ready.

At the risk of going off-topic, almost every aspect of them seems to be configurable. I don't have them (I also use CH Pro pedals) but they have been very well reviewed.

Any news regarding the Honeycomb throttle quadrant? I haven't heard anything of this company and I'm starting to doubt their claims to deliver this..

Qtr 1 2018 for the yoke. There is a separate thread, suggest you read it.

Thank you very much Ray. My apologies, I should have missed the separate thread.
