How i fly Prepar3D v4 with my HTC Vive

Featured Replies

Hi folks, just wanted to share how i use my HTC Vive with Prepar3D.

For my it's not only about flying, i like to walk around the plane and scenerys i landed at, standing in front of a huge plane in VR is something special.

My Youtube Video

Neat video! I've read of poor resolution while using VR yet yours looks pretty good. Is what you see in your vive the same as what we see in the video?

thanks,

Don

hi wrap23,

the problem is you can't record fullscreen what you actually see in VR and even if you could you just can't reproduce

how it really looks & feel in VR. The only way is to try it by yourself and then you will know what it is all about, i know it sounds strange ;)

I would suggest to try VR flying at a friened or someone who have it at home.

Here is an video ive made for a friend just to show him how it records (both eyes left & right). example of recording

You see you cant record in fullscreen, but i found a a way to at least show the half screen.

Hey Nedo;

 So, got the Vive VR. Now, the resolution is very blurry. Do you also see in your VR?

How blurry ? You have to use supersampling at 2 in steam vr with  p3d ! It will be better. In the 737 ngx you can read the minima altitud without leaning. To read the qnh it is more difficult ! Zoom function or lean !

Very Blurry! Like I can`t see mostly nothing on cockpit. Let me try putting Supersampling at 2 then.

Thanks,

Awesome video!  How'd you switch between views with the Xbox controller?  Is that 3rd party or is there a controller option to choose between the 'walk around' vs VC views?  I'm def going to have to give this a go!
