February 27, 200620 yr Hello. I hope that someone can help me with what I feel is a stupid question. I recently downloaded the iFly 747. I have read the manual but I can't figure how to turn on the avionics ie: PFDs and FMC. Mabye I am overlooking something from the manual. Thanks in advance for the halp.John
February 28, 200620 yr Shift+3-8 bring up the different sub-panels in this AC. Hope that is what you are looking for.Example: Shift+3 Shift+4 Shift+5 etc.
February 28, 200620 yr Author Thanks for replying. I have managed to do that but I can't figure if there's a switch to turn on the avaionics. Whan the aircraft loads, the engines are running but there is nothing displayed on the PFD or the FMC.
March 1, 200620 yr Hi John, let's see if I can help. I had the a/c but later opted for the PMDG model as the IFly was a bit rough around the edges. However, a superb job considering it's freeware. Now to your problem. No there isn't a switch per se for the avionics and FMC. Open your overhead panel and locate the generator switches, you should have 4, 1 for each engine. Turn them on and that will supply electrical power to the a/c.If the above doesn't work your problem may reside in the way you start-up the sim for this a/c. Try first loading the default Cessna then turn off the engine and master battery switches (NOTE: DO NOT TURN OFF THE AVIONICS). Now select the Ifly a/c and see if it loads correctly with engines running and electrical power or "cold and dark".One other problem that could be associated is you waited too long and drained your batteries. Let me know if any of the above work.
March 2, 200620 yr Author Thanks for the help. I tried everything which you suggested. No luck. I have sent an e-mail to the developers and I am just waiting for a response. I was hoping that someone else had this problem and thus a solution. If you have anymore suggestions, I'll give them a try. Thanks again,John
March 2, 200620 yr John, it's possible that you may have a corrupt installation. You might try deleting and reinstalling the a/c.
March 2, 200620 yr Author Thanks, I did that several times. I received an email from the developers and they said to switch to an earlier version of FSUIPC. I was using 3.53 and switched back to 3.12 which was the last version I was using. Well, everything works perfectly now and I couldn't be happier. Thanks to everyone who offered advice!!Thanks,John
March 2, 200620 yr Moderator John,Switching back to a previous version of FSUIPC is not recommended. Pete Dowson will only support the current version.I suggest that if you're having problems with iFly747 and FSUIPC (3.5.3.7 is the current) you let Pete know on his forum http://forums.simflight.com/viewforum.php?...8d3460f346fd541Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). April 14, 200620 yr Dear John,I had the same problem and it has been solved by your investigation. Thanks. Ilhan Uncuoglu:-)
May 9, 200620 yr So who's at fault for the no FMC/CDU? FSUIPC version 3.48-3.60 does not work with the iFly 747-400 package. If we have to downgrade all the way back to 3.12 (which I have not done yet due to the number of bugs associated) is this the fault of the iFly developers, or Peter Dowson? This problem is forcing me to uninstall the iFly project altogether. =[
May 9, 200620 yr Wouldn't speak about it being anyone's "fault", but it is certainly in the power of the iFly developer to update the package and make it work with current FSUIPC versions.Regards,http://www.bremmekamp.com/img/misc/avsim.jpg
