October 22, 20178 yr I have not used VSync much since I moved from FSX to P3Dv2 because I've never observed so-called tearing effects. But now since I updated from P3Dv 4.0 to v4.1 (client and content) I have strong tearing effects when in spot-view. Unfortunately, also Win 10 (Fall Creator) and video driver have been updated so I cannot say what really happened. I am not complaining, as I get a decent running P3D with VSync on. But I would like to understand why suddenly VSync became necessary on my set-up. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
October 22, 20178 yr Are you sure the tearing is related to VSync? You'll only see tearing when the sim can generate more FPS than your refresh rate can handle. Hence the need for VSync. If you're only seeing tearing now, it means your recent updates have meant you gained a performance boost. Neil Andrews. Fight or Flight - YouTube | Twitter
