November 4, 20178 yr If they could catch whoever operated that drone, they should have to reimburse the airlines for all the additional fuel they had to burn and overtime they had to pay. Some people just don't care how much harm or disruption they cause to others. November 4, 20178 yr Martin - I suspect that the perpetrator would be in debt to the airlines for the rest of their life. Or they'd be doing jail time due to non payment of fines. I wonder if an estimate of the extra cost was calculated - it'd be staggering! That's before any passengers decide to file civil suits for inconvenience too! The price of safety - graphically shown. Similar procedures happen if an unidentified aircraft appears - possibly a VFR flight (listening squawk? no flight following requested??) which strays into the airspace. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0qO_I5ri-k Mark Robinson Part-time Ferroequinologist Author of FLIGHT: A near-future short story (ebook available on amazon) I made the baby cry - A2A Simulations L-049 Constellation Sky Simulations MD-11 V2.2 Pilot.
