April 3, 200620 yr Could someone help me? I have never attempted a trans-oceanic flight yet, so I thougt I would give it a try. I also obtained some Atlantic Ocean plotting charts and noticed that each degree of lat or lon is separated by 6 divisions which I assume are in minutes and each division is 10 minutes? Anyway, my flightplan came out with some waypoints such as 4464N, 5047N, 5240N, 5424N, etc. How would I plot these on a chart? Are the first 2 numbers the degrees and the last the minutes? If so, why 64 which is over 60? As you can tell, I am a bit confused. :D Thanks. Tom
April 3, 200620 yr Tom,I won't answer all your questions, but hopefully I'll provide you with information that would allow you to easily create oceanic flights. First, use this site to find a route of flight: http://rfinder.asalink.net/free/Enter "Departure" and "Destination", then press the "Find Route" button. Copy the route created at the bottom of the next page. Now go to this site:http://www.fsroute.com/Fill in the blanks: departure, destination, and route. Ensure that you remove departure and destination airports from the route you copied. Also remove any "SID" or "STAR" words. Press "Generate" and see if there are no errors in the route. This site is very particular in what it understands as part of a route, so be careful. Once you see no errors, then use the "export" feature to export this route as a FS9 flight plan or whichever one of the other options you desire. Hope this helps you.Regards,DaveFor the forum police. April 5, 200620 yr Hi Rhett, I ordered them right from Jeppeson quite a while ago. If it helps, here's the address, or I'm sure you could check their website. Regards, Tom JEPPESON 55 Inverness Drive East Englewood, CO 80112-5498
April 5, 200620 yr Dave,I gave your flightplan sites a try and wow! It seems just like the real thing! I did find some errors when I generated though, and I was wondering is there a way to print a map of the route to orient oneself to the route? I'm not that familiar with some of the terminology of the route numbers such as "UP600" or "UY98". I'm just familar with the V and Jet airways and intersections. Thanks. Tom
