Speech recognition stops responding

Featured Replies

Unfortunately, this problem persists.Today, before taking off from Paris Orly, speech recognition stopped responding and no take off flows or check lists. The FO  announced the speeds during  take off so programme is still functioning but had to shut down and restart MCE to get flows and checklists back.

Also, some days voice recognition works fine, but other days i might aswell be speaking Latin  eg on final i will ask for "flaps full" and FO responds with "roger flaps up" which is a little frustrating. I think i remember someone suggesting doing the microsoft speech training but i can't seem to navigate to that. I can pull up speech recognizer but the training training.

Thanks for any help with this.

Hi Jimble.

Run the Wizard from the tools menu. Then do the speech training from there.

I changed microphones and needed remedial speech re training before the FO could hear me!

Cheers.

I also have the problem that MCE stops responding. In the window title it then reads "Please wait while getting data for current aircraft!". Have to kill and restart MCE. Haven't been able to narrow it down to another add-on.

Best regards, Dimitrios

This is a stab in the dark, but i noticed when doing speech training via win 10, sometimes it stops responding but you simply press pause and then resume and off it goes again. Is it possible the same thing is happening when MCE stops responding to voice instruction?

I "upgraded" to P3dv4 over the weekend.

It was a nightmare due to my Eset (or UPSET) Ani virus program.

If I hadn't had the help of MCE support, I would not be running MCE at all in P3dv4!

So I will suggest that it might be the anti virus software that is interfering with our speech engine? Or certain exe files that we need to run in order to enjoy our hobby.

With all these "security upgrades" and over zealous anti virus software I think there are things going on in our PC "boxes" that we can not be in control of?

Every time Windows gets "security upgraded" you can bet that the people who wrote the "upgrade" pay not the slightest heed to us flight simmers! All they are interested in are the commercial users!

I may add that even with Eset "paused" the dam thing still nannied the system and halted an executable that MCE needed in order to run properly.

Reading about all those Win 10 "Creator" (disruptor) upgrades, makes me wish for a simpler time in flight simming. Put the CD in the drive and hit load....done! But that was before any 'tinternet!

Best of luck guys!
