Can't obtain activation key.
Hi, Today i requested an activation key but received a failiure message because the e mail i am using is not in the data base and, telling me to send a request from the address used when purchasing. Problem is, that address is long gone but i do emeber what it was ( i think). Sent another e mail with reference to old e mail address and request to update but received the same registration key request "failed message and, wrong e mail" Any suggestions?

Wrong landing runway
Hi, i'm having a problem with RC assigning the correct runway for landing. Tonight, i flew into Gatwick and was told to "expect vectors for 26L, as i got ready to land i noticed i had a tail wind and, AI aircreaft were taking off from 8R which is odd as RC assignes the runway based on AI aircraft. Earlier today i flew to Paris Orly, i checked wind direction, at Orly before takeoff and was anticipating 26 or 24. Approach told me "expect vectors to runway 24", and then a moment later said "expect vectors to runway 06" couldn't lose the height in time, and did a missed approach. I was again vectored to 06, and landed with a tail wind. I am using REX weather engine which seems to be giving the correct info. Any idea what could be going on here? I had checked the weather at both airports before the flight and was assigned 6 at Orly for takeoff, correct for wind direction and AI aircraft and, was anticipating 8 R at Gatwick for landing which AI was queuing up for. Thanks for any help with this.

Top of Descent
Thanks for thar Ronzie. What led me to ask the original question is that the Airbus descent has me rather baffled. It does fine in managed mode until about 11000 feet, and then it seems reluctant to descend with any urgency, 200 or 300 feet per minute which is no good to me as i cant get down quick enough. Taking it out of managed mode into an open descent, it has a tendency to overspeed, even with spoilers deployed. Back to the manuals and see if i can work it out. Thanks again.

Top of Descent
oooops, i have been handing the comms to Otto for years, i didn't know i could request a PD at that point, thought i had to do as i was told. Will give it another go this evening. Thanks for your reply JD.

Top of Descent
I fly the Airbus A320 and 21 and i noice that RC allways starts me down a long way before the TOD indicates. RC is reading the FS flight plan which indicates a descent much later than RC..eg, KLIT to KDFW indicates a descent starting at BYP, but RC starts about 20-25 miles before this. I am unable to follow the descent path for the airbus. If i wait after given the PD, i will never meet the required "start down now i need you level in 30 miles or less" Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Strange problem with RC.
Gatwick will work if i don't have Heathrow installed. If i do install Heathrow, both Gatwick and Heathrow cause RC to slam the plane into the ground.

Strange problem with RC.
After much tinkering i think i have found the culprit..London Heathrow (EGLL). Many scenery changes for EGLL make sugnificant changes to the airport and it becomes much larger. wheras, other airports have the "shell" and the deatail is changed. I haven't tried payware for EGLL but did try several scenery changes including UK scenery freeware, same result, RC won't work., the plame slams into the ground. Did rebuild scenery database, updated make runways ....Same result. All other airports are fine after a scenery change. Thanks.

Strange problem with RC.
When itry to connect to RC after starting my flight, the plane moves to the runway area then rises into the air "too low flaps, too low flaps" and crashes into the ground. I have tried rebuilding the scenery data base, but no luck. Any idea what could be going on here? Thanks.

msstdfmt.dll
Dorn, If i reinstall windows 7, i too have to register the missing DLL (after downloading it) It does seem confusing and difficult, but i have done it each time. The instructions are pinned to this forum, maybe a computer savy friend could help. Good luck with this.

reading flight plan from REX
You can import a flight plan from FSX into REX. Textures are added and weather processing, then, and i'm not sure why, REX requires you to save this plan. It can be found by browsing to the REX folder. If i try to get RC to read this file the controler page loads information, but when trying to connect i get the run time error 9. I'm not sure that even if it could read it that it would be any different.

reading flight plan from REX
Is there a way to get RC to read a saved flight plan in REX? I presently get a "run time error 9". If i can't, it's not the end of the world as i can read the file in the FSX flight planner with REX weather engine input. Thanks for your help with this.

ATIS keeps getting it wrong.
You do say however that it was incorrect for departure, right? That was only for runway assignment? Did the winds match the REX METAR for departure and destination?Yes, when ATC assigned the runway, i took off into the wind. Interestingly, i think runways are assigned depending on AI and not wind direction however, ATC seems to be ignoring AI and assigning the correct runway based on wind direction. My co pilot contacts ATIS 50 NM from the arrival airport.

ATIS keeps getting it wrong.
Thanks for your reply Ron. I have windows 7, FSX, Using REX for weather, and my AI is WOAI.

ATIS keeps getting it wrong.
Hi, having a problem with ATIS, it keeps giving the wrong runway for both take off and landing. Last night, for example, i flew from Alicante Spain, to London Gatwick. Alicante ATIS gave 08 for take off and landing, then ATC sent me to 24. On approach to Gatwick, ATIS told me 8R, then approach sent me to 26L. Approach was correct for both wind direction, and flow of AI. Any idea what might be going on. Thanks.

approach issue
I occasionally get a similar thing happen, for example, flying into Dublin International for Runway 28 i will be instructed to turn left 190, and then intercept vectors are given as turning right to 240. I will not be able to intercept the localizer, so i right to about 300. Sometimes happens going into Gatwick for runway 26L, this curious left turn instruction, that doesn't seem to make any sense.

Fuel planning
Not really a Radar contact question so i apologize in advance, i wonder if i could tap into your experience about fuel planning. Ok you don't need to simply fill the tanks to 100% because the plane will use fuel to carry the excess fuel, so you need to take into account distance, wind direction etc, but things happen along the way such as a holding pattern and go arounds You still need healthy fuel tanks upon landing. I made a flight from Little Rock to DFW, missed my initial approach due to wind, went around, coming in the second time, RC told me to go around again, but feared i would run out of fuel over the city of Dallas How is this handled in the real world, and what advice would you give regarding fuel planning Thanks in advance..

Please Increase Time Delays Between Tellings Off !
I think there is a work round to this problem. Let the co pilot handle the coms, so when you are "bollocked" for not responding quick enough, the co pilot will politely inform ATC that you acknowledge their instructions, you are free to work on complience, The controller might be having a bad day as he is dealing with ten aircraft at the same time. Also, be mindful of the fact that when you compile the flight plan, that is the one that RC will read, it doesn't care what is your FMC I use the Wilco Airbus series, and have the option to import the flight plan into the FMC, a bit unrealistic, but it does ensure, most of the time, compliance. After you reach the gate, don't select "flight critique", as you will have to deal with Bill Stevens, simply ###### down RC, and think "job well done"oops i meant shut down.

windows7
Allmost there, just one more problem. When trying to run a flight plan in RC i get the following. Run Time Error 713-you need the following file to be installed on your machine MSSTDFMT.DLL

windows7
Thanks for the prompt reply. I received an activation key today Not thinking any more about it, i deleted the e mail. I am wondering shall i uninstall it, reinstall it, and ask for another key and then run as administrator before activating it?

windows7
I am unable to rebuild the database for FSX, i get a message "run tiime error 75 path file access error" If i right click the icon and try to run as administrator, RC shows up as unregistered. I am using Avast anti virus. Thanks. Have now found that i can't activate controllers voices....runtime error 75 Radar contact.RCV4 Module.atc-ack. Chatter pilot vioces are working fine.

No co-pilot for my Feel There ERJ
Same with the Wilco airbus. Once you are cleared to taxi let the co pilot handle the coms and you fly the plane. Once the auto pilot is on it's pretty much the same as having the copilot fly it.

Departure proceedure
Thank you for the replies, and thanks Ron for the charts. I am, at present, practicing finding the correct departure procedures from various airports, and that's why i set up such a short flight.

Departure proceedure
The no departure procedure box was grayed out.

Departure proceedure
If you are required to file a departure procedure , but the runway has no SID, as in this case 27 at Memphis INT VOR MEM Destination Little Rock. What happens in the real world? Thanks in advance.
