April 8, 200620 yr I've got a newsletter from Captain Sim about this. The preview looks great http://www.captainsim.com/products/b757/300/block_a.html. I like the blocks system, this is just what I need, so the 757-300 will be the next purchase for me because I DO enjoy their 757-200.:-smile12 Regards,Stan
April 8, 200620 yr One things for sure...their visual models are spot-on! Im real happy with their C130. I too feel the Block system is a good idea. As I've mentioned before on this forum for casual simmers like me who care only about wingviews and nice visual model - its perfect :)
April 8, 200620 yr I'll probably wait and see how it stacks up to LDS's 757 offering. Can't imagine that Captain Sim will be able to compete with the LDS product, based on past offerings.
April 8, 200620 yr what happened to all the extras that the 752 was going to get? are we just going to get all the models and a year or so later possibly a 2d panel and a clickable VC? I think its great that the only air speed indicator is the backup!! The VC and model "look" awesome, but it isn't about just looks, otherwise it wouldn't be called Microsoft Flight Simulator
April 8, 200620 yr Good move :-) . - Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. April 8, 200620 yr I really like the looks too. BUT I HATE the lack of 2D panel!!!For me it's in the hangar 'til that's here. Waste of money for me, but before anyone jumps on me, yes i know it's my fault for not 'studying' the Captain Sim site, instead of just looking. Well every project should be based upon it's overall replication even though CS have let other of their sims collect dust in the lack of patching department. I find it pretty interesting that CS would choose to model a plane that is in essence the 767 not to mention the fact that PIC 767/LDS hold the reigns in terms of system replication for the 767. Perhaps CS did not know LDS had plans for the 757. CS have VERY strong 2D panels and I am amazed they choose not to do their majic with this bird. Options are always a good thing, not the lack of them. If CS do make a great 757 the one sure way of knowing is for them to run the PIC 767 and compare it to what they have done ;-) ...............Randy J. As I've mentioned before on this forum for casual>simmers like me who care only about wingviews and nice visual>model - its perfect :)This distinction between the "casual simmer who only cares about eye candy and doesn't care about manuals" versus the "hardcore simmer who likes THICK manuals" is one of the major "Brothers Grimm" fairy tales of flightsimming. I'm as casual as they come in terms of simming, and have no interest in studying THICK manuals of any kind. All the currently available addon products are easy to learn and don't require a PhD in engineering. Follow the tutorial flight, then create your own short list of buttons to press to get the thing started and in the air, pull back joystick and enjoy. The reason why I prefer the stuff from LDS, Flight 1, PMDG is BECAUSE I get the eye candy AND the nice systems, great-looking vcs, etc. Lol, reading some folks posts, you'd think they're trying to maneuver a nuclear submarine through the straits of Gibraltar. ricardo
April 10, 200620 yr Hi all, thanks for your comments.Just a short note to confirm that we are working on the 2D panel, and the Advanced Systems Programing block is well in progress as well.Meanwhile, Service Pack 1 for the 757-200 Blocks A, B, C, E is ready, and I hope can be released this week.Enjoy your flight!http://www.captainsim.com/cap_logo.gifwww.captainsim.com
