CaptainSim 757 and Des Braban....

Featured Replies

I've never seen a freeware developer nail everything he touches to a point his work often supersedes payware's effort... Des Braban has done this repeatedly with various add-ons I have. He is one of the best sound designers around. From his sets specifically designed for the PMDG 737 to PSS's A330/340 (the set I use for the PSS package is the A330/777 set located here on Avsim as with all his work), Des

It's great to see contributors to our hobby recognized like this. Great post!-John

Chris you read my mind... :-)I'm ahead of you on this one as I've been using Des's sound set as soon as I got the CS757. Unless it's an add-on like Level-D's 767 I always check to see if Des has a set for the plane in question. This guy hands down is one of the best sound guys around (many are asleep on him)...

Yea Des rules! I first began using his sounds on my PMDG 737s . Truly excellent work. I didnt know he has done 734 sounds! Gotta get em!I like his sounds because they are *clean* (for example his NG737 soundset).By "clean" I mean - no microphone noise, no seatbelt buckles clicking, no background voices etc. I find those in a lot of soundsets and do not like them but I know it cannot be helped because they were recorded in an airliner cabin full of people. I guess I prefer software-generated sound!Des if you are reading this: nice one mate :)

I wouldn't have anything else except Des's, Stephen's or Mike's sound sets in my planes. No matter how much the plane costs. Their sounds always get swapped in.

I agree - great sounds. I've been using his 737 and 767 sounds for a long time aliasing to my default airliners. Thanks for bringing his sounds back to my attention as I just installed his LevelD and PMDG737 replacement sounds and they greatly enhance the products (IMHO).Ciao,JimYoung

Me too!!! Many, many of my aircraft have 'DB' in their name. Just to remind me who the aounds are done by....Thank you DB!

Hey everyone, just out of curiosity, is this 757 sound set released in 2004? This was the only one I found by Des. Just wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything. Thanks.

The sound set by Des I use for the CaptainSim 757 is a two part download called, 'Boeing 757/767 Soundpack V3 Part 1' and 'Boeing 757/767 Soundpack V3 Part 2'. Or look for the file names, '7567_part1.zip' and '7567_part2.zip'. All files are located here in the Avsim library. For the record I've never used any Des files in FS2k2. I discovered his work after FS2k4 was released. I don't know of any FS2k2 sound set by Des Braban and I guess you could say I'm not really looking. Been done with FS2k2 along time ago... :-)

Based on the recommendation in this thread to try out Des Braban's soundsets I went ahead and checked out his A320 sounds and you ain't wrong. . . . .superb!! Thank you very much Des. I'll be checking out those FSHOTsfx files too which I see are adapted from Des's sound files.

super sound sets and nice to see Des getting some credit for all the work he's done to enhance the simming experience....
