P3DV4 Compatibility

Featured Replies

I have decided to move on to P3dV4 from FSX.  Where can I find  a list of FSX software that I can install in a new system built specifically for P3DV4.  I know that I will have to possible update some airports and utilities such as PFPX, ASN, FSUIPC etc.  Also, will any FSX titles have to be installed on the new system prior to using P3DV4?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Dom

Here is very nice list of add-on compatibitly for P3D4. AS16 will require a re-purchase, as will FSUIPC5. PFPX will work as is.

Most external programs such as Aivlasoft EFB, Pro ATCX, and PFPX will work on the same installations with the correct folders pointed out to them. Airport sceneries are a bit of hit or miss. Most will work okay, but some may have missing textures, lights or can even kill frame rates, so I would advise to tread carefully.

Thanks for the reply.  For my clarity, the fsx products that I have reside on a windows7 computer.  I am ordering a completely new build specifically for P3DV4 onto which I will install P3DV4 only, and nothing from FSX.

When I install the scenery or products for which I have a license key and select the P3DV4 installer option, will this suffice or must I have the FSX product installed on the dedicated P3DV4 pc?

Dom

No, if your scenery is made for P3Dv4 there is no need to have FSX installed and if the installer is not made for P3Dv4 there are other methods to pretend that FSX is installed ....
