Where to find ATC airline names

Featured Replies

I seem to recall that I visited a Web site that listed all of the airline names nad perhaps the GA planes known to FS9 ATC. It was laid out in columns and listed the names such as America West and callsigns like "Cactus." I've either lost the link or I dreamed the whole thing. Can anyone help?Oh BTW, the reason that I'm asking is because I downloaded the PAD Twin Otter and I'm trying to get ATC to call me Scenic 123. Thanks. R-

Thanks Martin, that certainly is a comprehensive site but it doesn't tell me which ones are known to FS9 ATC and what words to insert into the aircraft.cfg file to make them call me "Scenic." Thanks again. R-

Hi RonB49,What you need is an add-on called 'EditVoicePack'. I checked and 'Scenic' is included. It's available here, just do a search. It's not a huge program, it's easy to set up, and has a great tutorial. It has such a large data base that it will take a while to update, but is well worth the effort.Give it a try and I think you'll wonder how you ever got along without it.Cheers,Bob

Thanks Bob, I just finished downloading it. I recently bought a new computer and I'm slowly but surely getting all my favorite addons downloaded and/or reactivated. Thanks for the help. R-

Quite easy using Google: just type in 'Airline name' callsign and off you go.First several hits on page one will have the answer for you.CheersDom

Look in your aircraft folder and you will see a file called airlines.cfg, that will tell you all of the airline callsigns you have loaded in FS.Bud

Project AI used to have a list of all the airlines FS knows without edit voicepack, I imagine they still have that list

IIRC airlines.cfg contains all the callsigns that you can assign via the scroll list box in select aircraft flight number for the user aircraft. If you update your voicepak, you still need to also update that file in order to see the callsign in the list. Note that editvoicepack has a menu in tools to do just that. i think if you just edit the airlines.cfg without also changing the voicepak, ATC will call you as "experimental".scott s..

I think that you are looking for this file - fs2k2atcv2.zipIt is available in the AVSIM library. --Tom________http://mysite.verizon.net/tjrush/tjrcaasig.jpgWhen once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the Earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you will always long to return. --- Leonardo da Vinci

Thanks to all who responded. As I stated above, Editvoicepack fixed my problem and gave ATC the ability to say "Scenic." But I've learned and/or relearned a lot following the links and suggestions made here. Tom, the file that you pointed me toward has the info I was asking about but I believe that I stumbled across a Web site 2 or 3 years ago that had this info and more in a handy format. (Bookmarks?
