The most annoying terrain problem i've had.

Featured Replies

Hello,

As of right now am using P3D V3. I am having some issues with my terrain. I have to go into my scenery settings and change the level of radius from 2 to 5 and which it haopens again i have to go from 5 to 2. Its very ugly looking at it when its blury (Very ugly). So i was thinking if anyone could help me on here. This happens everywhere in the world in p3d. Its even more annoying trying to land with disgusting terrain that i have to do it when on approach. I would do it before connecting to ILS and just before removing autopilot around 1000-3500 feet i remove autopilot.

Using:

P3D V3

ORBX GLOBAL

ORBX OPENLC EUROPE

ORBX VECTOR AND TREEs.

And my airports such as uk2000, aerosoft, flytampa etc.

Could you provide a screenshot or two of the issue?

Okay, i did a short flight from EGCC-EGLL in the aerosoft A321.

As soon as i took off it looked like this : http://prntscr.com/huk2zi

After changing the radius its this now: http://prntscr.com/huk6gk (THE WAY IT SHOULD ALWAYS BE)

Not even 5 minutes later http://prntscr.com/huk7bz bamn happens again!

My P3D Settings

http://prntscr.com/huk6oo

Hopefully u can fix this :)

P.S: Happy new year :)

Could you check your GPU load via task manager (if running Windows 10 FCU) or hardware monitor? It could be that your GPU is being pinned at 100% in some scenarios and having to throttle settings a bit. Also, could you check your VAS to see if P3D is having to dump memory?

After like 10minutes i left it alone and it went like this http://prntscr.com/hukinf.

My GPU IS like between 60-70% and my vas is like at 30-80% so?

Edit: i realised my heathrow was not activated, so i activated it and it whent normal but messed up again ;(

So it seems like you’re experiencing blurry terrain textures, what scenery do you have? FTX global, any openLC or Vector?

Has it always been like this or did it just start happening randomly?

I don't remember to be honest. Pretty sure didn't have this before i reinstalled windows 10 after got hit by a virus ;(

I kinda have a feeling its my .cfg, so am a remove it and let it rebuild :(

First of all Happy New Year!

i've been doing some testing and got some results for you.

I don't know why but i had just got a 777 at egcc and set flaps 5 and took off, there were no problems with terrain.

I come to do a small flight in the 737 (EGCC-EIDW) soon as i took off it would become blury.

I had then tried in the aerosoft airbus same results and the 777.

I redid the exact same but with a clean cfg but with all my in-game settings how i normally have it.

What should i do?

Hello AirProudPilot

Before getting into a possible GPU or CPU Issue you should do some Basic Maintenance steps

Try these Basic maintenance steps

Delete the following 3 generated files and folders.  These will generate again when Prepar3D is launched next

This will not effect any of your 3rd party software Add On's

You will just need to adjust your graphic \ scenery settings again to your prefrence via Prepar3D > Options when you delete the Prepar3D.cfg file

Delete the following 3 generated files and folders

1) Prepar3D.cfg file.    2) Shaders folder.    3) SceneryIndexes_x64  folder.

Copy the 3 set's of Tex below and Paste them into your windows search bar, One by One and click on the result,  this will bring you directly to the correct locations

Right click and Delete the Prepar3D.cfg file

%APPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3

Right click and Delete your Shaders folder

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3

Right click and Delete the SceneryIndexes_x64 folder    Not the Scenery.cfg file

%PROGRAMDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3

After you complete this launch Prepar3D and test

Hello

Yes I misread your original post,  This folder would be for Prepar3D v4,   As you know now the v3 version of this folder is just  SceneryIndexes

Update 2: Sadly not. I managed to do the test flight today and no good results.

After takeoff : http://prntscr.com/hxabi4 . I also thought it might have been Active Sky Next soo i turned it off and turned up the resolution to 5 and nope. What else can i do ? thanks
