May 2, 200620 yr Is this the same airplane Kirk Olsson just released or a different one?If so AWESOMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEE. Two would be great. What would be better, given Kirks already released an A model...is possibly an E conversion. However both look fantastic and I will take both!Eric AND
May 2, 200620 yr Well if Kirk just released one, I'll have to check that out, but I've been using this one from the Dog Patch Crew that I'm very happy with (doesn't compare to the one above, though).http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?lloc...nfo&FileID=2946Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry

However both look fantastic and I>will take both!>>Eric>Have to say this came as a bit of a shock for me just now.... :-eek Didn't know Kirk was working on an F-86 as well !... This was ment as a replacement for my L-049 Connie 'pet' project which i had to scrap because of John White's ( FSDeszigns ) extraordinairy wonderful L-049 model knocking me off my socks. Same thing happening all over again......? *:-* Maybe not... haven't seen Kirk's model yet, downloading now, knowing his other work it will be fantastique but maybe you're right, it's an A model only. I'm going for an E and early F initially and intend to do all subsequent versions as well including H, all naval Fury versions and possibly D,K and L as well. Barry must be a magician.... asking about an F-86 model with VC.... here i come with a few WIP shots of my F-86 with VC project. Next day here comes Kirk with a completely finished ready for download F-86 model with VC (obviously waited for Barry to pop the question.... :-hah ) Just my luck but Barry will be FS heaven ! :-coolCheers,Jan

Actually, it's hard to tell what model Kirk's is. The aircraft.cfg says "F-86" and F-86A" but a good number of the paint schemes are for E's and F's, etc...Don't you dare stop your Sabre series because of Kirk's...not that I thought you were considering doing so. Kirk's model is nice, but as usual, there are no clickables in the VC and the cockpit and pilot seem disproportionately large. Lots of room for improvement...never been an FS model that didn't leave room for improvement.(Not trying to slam Kirk's hard work, generously made available for free, just saying.)>Barry must be a magician.... asking about an F-86 model with>VC.... here i come with a few WIP shots of my F-86 with VC>project. If it is anything like it looks, it will be a keeper. Thanks for your workBarry
May 2, 200620 yr BTW, I meant to say this, too :-jumpyAmazing work!!!(I wanted a jaw dropping and falling off smiley, but I couldn't find that one)Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry
May 2, 200620 yr An E model with two 20 mm cannon instead of the 3 MG's and a longer wing would be awesome. Has a little deeper fuselage as well. Listen though, your work above looks fantastic. I definitely have room on my HD for both!!! Also the skins on Kirks plane are numerous but are not as good as whats on that plane of yours. So, two freeware F-86's will definitely rock. I wouldnt worry about it.Go DL Kirks work though. Im sure you'll see complimentary stuff.Eric AND
May 2, 200620 yr Hi,I have Mr. Olsson's F86, and have noticed a problem with the slats. He has the slats operated by the flap handle. The slats on an F86 are operated aerodymanicaly, as a function of airspeed and angle of attack. They are not connected to any drive mechanism. If you see an F86 on the flight line, the slats will be extended, like your pictures. You can push them up by hand, but they will extend when you let them go. I do not know if Olsson is aware of this or not. There may be a problem getting the slats to operate properly in Fligh Sim. Hope you do not have this problem. Your aircfaft looks great. Well done.Regards,Bob..... in sunny Florida
