Caution Messages clarification

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Lately when starting the engines on the 747, I've been getting he following caution messages appearing and I don't know why or how to clear them as they won't clear:

BODY GEAR STRG

FUEL RES XFR 4

Anyone know why these are appearing or how to remove them?

Thanks.

Lucas.

Do you have service based failures on? And are you sure you’ve configure your fuel pumps correctly?

Hi,

Service based failures are disabled and fuel pumps are configured correctly. Each tank is equal and OVRD and X Feed switches are off.

I start over with Cold and Dark and see if that doesn't fix it.

Hmm not very practical when you're on the taxiway preparing for taxi.

Yeah that's when I'm pushing back and almost on the taxiway.

He was likely suggesting to rule out a misconfiguration or system failure.. the panel states that come with the airplane are known to be a little buggy, which will be addressed in the future. A c&d cockpit would turn every system off and you could restart them in the correct order...

the „default panel state“ comes with engines running and is known to be fine. You could save your route, load the default state and would only have to load the route and insert the data pages again... not even 5 minutes but great to trouble shoot...

Honestly I don't even bother with panel states. That extra few minutes it takes to shut everything down isn't worth troubleshooting now and then.
