Use of keyboard? (resolved)

Featured Replies

Can I type in letters and numbers using the keyboard?

Also could anybody point me to the trainer update discussion to get the latest nav data possible?

Many thanks!

Hi, the GNS input is solely via knobs and buttons, otherwise, via flight plan and user waypoint files import.

Hi, im looking for solution to use REAL BUTTONS AND ENCODERS with GNS 530 and i cannot find the way...

Just move with mouse ?????

@baronizy in order to link external controls to our devices (GNS V2 and GTN), you've got keyboard shortcuts and default simulator GPS commands. On X-Plane, you also get custom commands! Please make sure to review the User's Manual for details.

I have a full implementation of this with rotary encoders and buttons using LINDA on FSX. LINDA comes with an RXP library, which basically just wraps all the appropriate keystrokes in LINDA functions. The only function not available is to switch navigation between the RXP and internal GPS (you have to click a click spot with the mouse). This is with the old RXP GNS530, I don't have the new one.

You can see lots about this on my YT channel.

Hi, after check and check and ....i resolved the assignment with keys BUT now i cannot control de POWER PUSH ..

do not work with mouse ( clicking on) and them do not work with keys

i was checking the .ini and cannot find the choice how to do manual power on and power off the garmin 530

Any idea ?

thanks

Im sorry, i forgot that im using

FSX

WINDOWS 8.1

Hi, power is controlled with the COM Volume knob (.C), therefore, you won't power on/off with push, but in turning the knob counter-clockwise fully. You have to map the PWR_CCW and PWR_CW commands instead!

Hi, yes i wanna use power push bottom but this function is not operative ( with mouse or keys )

just show the little handle  on the center of the knob but do not working...

Anyway, i bought the software RXP GNS530 4 mounth ago and i think that should be resolved shortcuts issues in the lasted version , my software is 2.0 ....

The idea is update to the 2.4.2 version ( this is the last one ??????)

i cannot find the way how to do it !

My version do not show the update choice

thanks for help !!

There is a chance this was inop in 2.0 indeed, but it is certainly working with the latest 2.4.2.

As for updating, it is available either via Settings Panel | Check Updates... or directly from our web site.

Dear Jean Luc

Thanks a lot for your help, after long time we are resuming the job in my Beech baron F.S. project.

I would like to show you some pictures about that, looking great..SLOW, VERY SLOW

About my gns 530, the key assign, is resolved, is working great with my hardware ( encoders, switches and poten..)

The power switch ( on/off) is still not working, after installed the update version ( 2.4.6.0)

Any idea whats going on ? I would really appreciate your help ..

Thanks a lot

Pablo Rozen

Hi Pablo,

this is an old discussion and I'm not sure were we are at!

Let's try to recap: do you mean you can't find a way to TURN the power knob CW/CCW with keyboard shortcuts?

Hi Jean-Luc

im so sorry, my english is not good, let me try to explain:

The power (on-off) switch ( pull/push ) is inoperative...i mean, i cannot control the power on/off  of the garmin, ( clicking on the small hand  of the com knob )

I have tried to assign keys for this function and doesn't work.

Can i show you the .ini files, maybe there is the problem...???

Thanks a lot for your help....

Pablo

The GNS doesn't power on/off when pushing the button. It turns off when turning the knob counter-clockwise fully.

You must use therefore RXP_GNS_PWR_CCW_1(_2) and RXP_GNS_PWR_CW_1(_2)

Also, you must set the power knob option in the settings to either:

  1. DEFAULT_ON: The GNS loads powered up
The power knob is set to 1 notch past the off/on position (minimum volume).

  2. DEFAULT_OFF: The GNS loads powered down.

Thanks a lot, tomorrow i will try
