May 23, 200620 yr I just love Bill's work. I have all his aircraft - except for I see that he has now gone into Business jets. I wonder what they are like - trouble is, I'm not really into Biz Jets.Anyway - in his Tripacer, you are supposed to be able to place the pilot in his seat by pressing the "O"key. Can't get it to work. I know that in his Challenegr microlight , you have to place the pilot in the seat to get the a/c to sit properly on the ground - so I am just wondering of this also happens in the Tripacer. Thanks for any adviceBarry
May 23, 200620 yr I also love Bill Lyon's work, especially his Goose and the Tiger Moth. Don't stress about the Business Jet thing, because he's going back to building classics: yeah!http://windrfters.com/about the pilot thing. I'm not on my game machine right now, so i can't double check, but i think the key is either "." or "/"....and if those don't work, try the light key "L" ....i'm pretty sure it's one of those-feng
May 23, 200620 yr Barry,I just tried my installation of this plane. The pilot is put aboard by pressing the "O" (that's the letter, not the number) and the front and rear passengers are inserted by pressing "/" (both without the "").I agree this is a marvelous plane, although everytime that I install it a make a slight adjustment in the air.cfg: I change the value for propeller thrust from 2.1 to either 1.0 or 1.1. I believe the plane is unnaturally "hot" at the original setting, and this change makes for a more realistic response.
May 23, 200620 yr Thanks for that Bob -- now could you kindly go into your "assignments" and see what action "O" is set against. I have it set against Strobe lights on/off - but the action does not seem to be working for me.Thanks Barry
May 23, 200620 yr Got it working now - I loaded a default aircraft first and it worked after that. Thanks barry
May 23, 200620 yr Barry, If I go to Assignments the "O" is the designated key for Strobe Lights On/Off, but the "O" still works on the Tri-Pacer for adding the pilot. I don't know why, but the instructions accompanying the Tri-Pacer state: Pilot and Passenger/Cargo: Before each flight you should add the pilot to the plane using the "O" key(normal strobe lights) You can add the optional passengers or cargo using the "/" key(normal spoiler key) Adding the passengers or cargo will cause some degradation in performance! And it seems to work for me.
May 24, 200620 yr Author Me too Barry:Soloed in the Grandchild Colt. Don't forget Bill's Apache either. Got my Multi- in one of those. The Lyons do excelent work don't they!Happy flying:RTH
January 16, 200719 yr How do you install the Tri in FSX? It keeps wanting to install to C:Program FilesPiper****Is this correct?
January 16, 200719 yr Author Ummmm.I confess I haven't tried it in FSX yet, as I am afraid I am having a love/hate relationship with that simulation anyway so far without the newest rattraps. I'm a little apprehensive even with the speculation of a major upgrade and think I will wait a spell to see exactly what falls out.Have you just tried copying it over with the same procedure that seems to work with many other birds?Good luck:RTH
January 17, 200719 yr None of the Lyons' planes will work in FSX because his gauges are not compatable. Someone did an update of the Travel Air for FSX, so maybe someone will update the Tri.I agree, it's a wonderful plane, and I hope to fly it in FSX some day (I need a good small amphib :) ).

Also, some of the textures were flashing to black a bit on the body, but othe rthan this, seems to fly well, hope someone makes a new panel :(
January 17, 200719 yr I got it to work in FSX. I get the textures flashing to black on the fuselage. I went into the model.cfg and added the interior= line with the model name afterwards. A few of the gauges need replacing. Here is a screenshot of the VC panel. Regards, Bob.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/165336.jpg
January 17, 200719 yr Nice Bob, How'd you replace the guages? Could you help a brotha out?And the Model= thingy, what exactly did you put after the "=" ?
January 17, 200719 yr Hi. The basic pa22.cab gauge works fine. There are four gauges that are FS98 type (vent,ps1,pgpslc and Collins-AV) as I remember. I have not replaced these yet. The pic is of the black panel with the stock gauges. In order to see the interior go to the Model folder and add a second line interior=pa22 to the model.cfg file. For the Model.p add a second line interior=pa22p. Once I replace the gauges I'll post a fix. The flashing textures are a problem and I don't know how to fix that. Regards, Bob.
