February 25, 20188 yr Hi, I was changing the flight deck lighting for the first time on the House Winglets aircraft and it seems to have caused a problem. When I was using the Master Lights Test and Dim Switch, I got myself a bit caught up with the switch and appear to have caused a problem. When I now select this particular aircraft and 'fly now', the aircraft appears at the runway and starts running the initialization routine. But a warning light and sound begins and at the end of the routine, the aircraft 'view' starts to flutter around and the aircraft moves around violently and uncontrolably. What have I done wrong? February 25, 20188 yr What is rotating in the small window of the Free Flight window when you select a NGX and press Fly Now? It should by your default aircraft and it should not be a complex airplane such as a PMDG. Any of the default aircraft are fine for this, many use the Trike for this purpose. Dan Downs KCRP
February 25, 20188 yr Author Dan- hold for a while. I think it now seems to be alright; fingers crossed. When I run the Sim', I have the Trike as the default aircraft. I then select a PMDG aircraft. I was directed to do this on an earlier post of mine. I don't quite understand why because on page 5 of tutorial #1 it states: There is need to first load the Cessna 172, or use any sort of custom saved flight when loading the PMDG 737NGX. Perhaps I'm miss-interpreting this bit of the tutorial. Regarding the lights and switches, is it possible to save a set of lights and switches settings so that I don't have to re-set these everytime I fly at night? Raymond Smyth

Two completely separate issues. Regarding the Intro Manual, we are asking you to set your default aircraft as one of the default planes: the trike, the Cessna, whatever. This is the plane that must be spinning in the window when the sim first loads. Regarding the Tutorial, we are clarifying a common misconception about the above point: you do not need to launch a flight using one of the default planes. As long as the plane spinning in the window is a default plane, you do not need to do anything further. You do not need to hit "Fly Now" with that trike, or Cessna, and then change to the NGX. You can change to the NGX prior to hitting "Fly Now" as long as, when the sim first loaded up to the Create a Flight screen with a default plane. Don't overanalyze it. Make sure your sim loads up to the Create a Flight screen with the trike, or Cessna. If the tutorial's line confuses you, ignore it. Kyle Rodgers
February 25, 20188 yr Author Thank you Kyle for that. Can you comment on my further query: Regarding the lights and switches, is it possible to save a set of lights and switches settings so that I don't have to re-set these everytime I fly at night? Raymond Raymond Smyth

Save a panel state - details in the Intro, with pictures (easier to explain that way). Kyle Rodgers
February 26, 20188 yr Author Kyle - brilliant and thanks for being tolerant with a late comer to PMDG. Raymond Raymond Smyth
