March 11, 20188 yr What is the best way to update the 737 600-900 from version 1.10xxx to 1.20xxx? Do I have to uninstall and reinstall, and if so will I lose all my liveries and settings? Thanks, Edited March 11, 20188 yr by Bobsk8
March 11, 20188 yr Uninstall both the NGX 600-700 expansion package and the 800-900 base package. Download new installers from your account at PMDG (unless you bought from Aerosoft, in which case you get installers from them). Run as admin the new installers. First open OC and select OK to repair liveries if required, then launch your simulator and select your NGX. All you liveries and saved flights should be intact. Dan Downs KCRP

Followed your instructions, with a bit of concern, but it turned out to be easy and trouble free. PMDG is a class product. Thanks for your help.
March 11, 20188 yr Author Well I new it was to good to be true. Test flying the 737 for the first time and the PFD 2D panel that I use all the time, doesn't work anymore. No click spot anywhere on the display. All the other panels pop up fine, but the main panel with all the info on it, refuses to pop up. When I put the mouse over it, I don't get that plus sign. Should have stayed with 1.1 I'm afraid. Went back on my old rule, if it isn't broke, don't fix it. PS. found the solution in this post. The POP up PFD was disabled by PMDG because some people that fly for 6 hours has a crash....LOL Solution is in this thread I found with Google. Edited March 11, 20188 yr by Bobsk8

Why they set the default with the pop disabled is a mystery to me. Bet more than one person spent hours trying to fix that. Anyway, it is flying perfectly now. Edited March 12, 20188 yr by Bobsk8

I and several others spent two months on it over in the LM forum for P3D, and PMDG spent a lot of time trying to get LM to cooperate and coming up with lots of dead ends on how to fix it. Finally got to the point where the only thing that made sense was to disable it and allow users to try it at their own risk. Had they set the default as enabled there would of been an increase in support. No mystery. Dan Downs KCRP

In some of the largest technical companies I have worked for , if the majority of the users were having a problem, the default would be off, if a small minority were having a problem, the default would be on.

Bob, I see your point, but where you worked is where you worked. We could've disabled it entirely without the option. We didn't. We gave you the option. That should be enough. Once you set the option, it's not like you need to set it each time. It inconvenienced you once because the default wasn't in your favor. Apologies, but let's not make it a bigger issue than it is.
