March 16, 20188 yr When taxiing from stand to runway my brakes overheat eventually leading to not being able to take off. I only use taxing speed ( although the aircraft seems to continually pick up speed so I have to keep applying a small amount of braking ) - any ideas please

We strongly encourage users to set up a signature block in their AVSim user account, then you never have to worry to remember in the future! You are either using extensive braking during taxi which yous should not, or your toe brake hardware sends brake command in the sim even if you do not press them. Try removing your hardware for toe brakes to see whats happening. Chris Makris PLEASE NOTE PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at http://forum.pmdg.com
March 16, 20188 yr Also, maybe the range or null zones of your throttle quadrant hardware is not set up correctly causing your power to be off idle resulting in you having to "pump" the brakes to maintain a lower ground speed.. March 16, 20188 yr It's takes a lot of effort to heat up the brakes on the Queen as opposed to the 777, you are most likely dragging the brakes as mentioned by Peter. Keep the speed realistic, about 25 kts maximum for a long taxi and don't use any more power than needed to sustain a speed. Dan Downs KCRP
