June 4, 200620 yr What are your thoughts on it? I was checking it out, and I must say the ext. of the plane looks excellent, but the inside reminds me very much of fs 2002 and seems like it has very basic avionics... (nothing like a say PSS/PMDG product)what are your thoughts of this plane? also was this plane designed for fs9 or fs'02?thx! :)

June 4, 200620 yr thats what it seems like :(I really like the airbus series, but I hear the avionics etc. suck wonder if the a306 is the same... the review here says some real good stuff about it though
June 5, 200620 yr I don't own any but have seen many sceen shot's and did some investigation.None of the CLS series has an FMC/FBW system and the VC looks like the default planes.I say don't waste your money. Al Stiff
June 5, 200620 yr I really hope PSS or PMDG come out with a good airbus series soon :( and why make a airbus with no fbw? isnt that like the biggest factor of airbuses? lol I heard that its real hard to simulate FBW in FS, not sure why... I *think* it would be possible with some FSUIPC interaction and a program running the in background
June 5, 200620 yr Really depends what you're looking for. If it's an accurate cockpit you want then no it's not for you. If you just want an Airbus that flies reasonably well and looks pretty good from the outside then it's a pretty decent aircraft.I have it and I also have the Abacus 'Fly the Airbus Fleet' and systems wise they are very similar. Both at least do maintain speed at high altitude, a big problem I had with the PSS A340 was it would get to FL250 and start to bleed energy really badly. I could never get it up to FL320 or higher. The CLS one will at least for me climb to these altitudes, although for some reason still bleeds energy. Maybe it's an Airbus thing I don't know, if it is then I definitely prefer Boeings.
June 5, 200620 yr There are two schools of thought on FS aircraft:(1) Accurate procedureal simulations - i.e. PSS/PMDG/Level D(2) Simply to fly and enjoy flying - i.e. CLS, Abacus seriesTo some extent - I'd personally recommend the excellent freeware for most of the people who want the second alternative. My Posky B757 with the Cebu Pacific Manila paint scheme is my favorite "modern" jet. Thanks to some great panels and a little adjustment with FSPanel Studio - it's working fantastic for me.You've basically answered your own question - "but the inside reminds me very much of fs 2002 and seems like it has very basic avionics"The aircraft will probably be a disappointment to you.To many it will be great and a very worthwile purchase. That's the beauty of FS - "Have it your way"
June 5, 200620 yr I love it and am very happy with it. I bought the package (A345 & A346).If you are a casual simmer and like flying the heavies its awesome. The external visuals & wingviews are brilliant and if you have a big screen and boomin' sound system you really will feel like you are trundling along in one of these Beasts! :)But of course if you thrive on FMC-programming, planning, hyper-real panels & uber-accurate flight dynamics...you will not like it!Oh yea...thanks CLS!!!!!!
June 5, 200620 yr Author Visual model is great .... all we need now is a PSS-style panel for the -600 series .... http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/150599.gif--------------------------------------------------------------------MD83's Dictionary:Dirge: Slow and mournful music e.g. COLDPLAY's musicMaudlin: Effusively or Insincerely emotional e.g. COLDPLAY's musicWhiney: To make a high-pitched, protracted sound, as in pain, fear, supplication, or complaint e.g. COLDPLAY's musicDreary: Boring; dull e.g. COLDPLAY's music Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
