I've also wondered about this. I've considered retiring my GTX980ti and going 1080ti.  But with news of the upcoming 11 series, I'll just muddle along until they come out. Either I will get a killer deal on a 1080ti at this or I will go with the 1180?? if the prices are reasonable.

Thank you.

Rick

NVidia held an event at Taiwan today but no mention of the new GPUs, looks like we will have to wait till June.

The latest news is that Nvidia will announce the next GPU in august 19-21st by Stuart Oberman from Nvidia, the next Generation mainstream GPU, release date that's anybody's guess likely not before  Q4 18,

It may be further away than you think: http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/nvidia-ceo-makes-interesting-remarknew-gamers-geforce-is-a-long-time-from-now.html

You can read into that different ways it could be them saying we have just fully restocked suppliers with 10 series were going to sit on the new GPUs until that stock falls, if we say when users may stop buying the 10 series.

But either way, it doesn't look as though we'll see next gen NVIDIA cards for quite some time.

Well we do know NVidia are holding an event on 19-21st August and Stuart Oberman from Nvidia will say something regarding the next Generation Mainstream GPUs, and it looks like Nvidia are staying tight lipped till then.
