June 27, 200619 yr Tonight I decided to uninstall some of the "old" addon aircraft that I have and no longer fly to free up some HD space. I uninstalled Flight1 DC9 "Iron Knuckles", Flight1 Piper Meridian and Garmin 500 trainer, Aerosoft Eurowings BAE146 package, Flight1 FSWater and a program called OceanFX.I noticed that somehow I no longer had the Textomatic utility for the other Flight1 aircraft I still had on my HD. That was easy to fix. I reinstalled the utility and problem solved but...When I ran FS9 I got an error message saying the gps_export.dll file was damaged or missing and FS9 couldn Regards, Hugo Bravo LPPT
June 27, 200619 yr Commercial Member I wonder if some fonts got uninstalled in the process somehow? Check FS9fonts for "Quartz.ttf" and restore it from the installation CDs if necessary. Looks like they're on disk one in "MSGAME1.CAB". That's the only thing I can think of...Jim
June 27, 200619 yr Author The gps_export.dll file version that I have in my Modules folder now is 9.0.0.30612 from 12-06-2003.Can someone who updated FS9 with the 9.1 patch check which version they got and if different please send me a copy to hugobravo73atnetvisao.pt?I Regards, Hugo Bravo LPPT
June 27, 200619 yr I have the latest FS9 and have the same version/date for the gps_export.dll file as you.Best regards,JimYoung
June 27, 200619 yr You dont have the latest gps_export.dllThe new version is 9.1.0 something (not at my pc right now)the very same thing happened to me the other night when I remove the F1 meridian. The gps_export.dll is updated during the 9.1 patch. You need to remove the patch and reinstall. The icons for this should still be in your main fs9 folder. Check the BACKUP folder and you will see that gps_export.dll is updated during 9.1Unfortuatley, the only way to get the new file from the .exe is to remove and reinstall the 9.1 patchWorked for me a treat and I am back up and running.Note for those who have installed old FS2002 addons updated for FS04, most of them will overwrite the new version of gps_export.dll without you even knowing it. You will then have to reinstall the 9.1 patch to get the correct .dllIt only seems to be a problem when you uninstall said add-ons.Regards,Glenn Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
June 27, 200619 yr Author I noticed this file is updated with the 9.1 patch because I have a "gps_export.A489.dll" inside the FS9BACKUP folder.Maybe if someone mails me just this file I don Regards, Hugo Bravo LPPT
June 27, 200619 yr Hugo,No ill effects from reinstalling the patch for me.I will try and mail you the file when I get home tonight. Not sure if this is against EULA regs or not though.....Glenn Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
June 27, 200619 yr Last week I removed a number of "aging" aircraft from my computer, the Flight 1 Meridian was one of those. Had the same problem: FS wouldn't start, and I got the same error message as the original poster. Needed to reinstall the dll from the original disc. Clearly, the problem here is with the uninstall routine of the Meridian. The flip side to this are addons that uninstall old versions of fsuipc. ricardo
June 28, 200619 yr Hugo,Apologize for providing you wrong info on the current version of gps_export.dll. I DID update FS9 to FS9.1 but NONE of the dll's in my module folder were updated. I reinstalled FS9.1 over the old upgrade and now most of the module dll's have been updated.Glenn: Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'm still trying to figure out why the first FS9.1 upgrade did not upgrade the modules folder. It did backup the old modules to a backup folder. I recently uninstalled Ready for Pushback (a FS2K2 addon upgraded to FS9) and it may have reinstalled the orig module dll's. Best regards,JimYoung
