May 13, 20188 yr Dear friends I am configuring FSX through some tutorials that I have used a long time ago and they gave me very good performance results. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fulsNB2zk1s). In the first tutorial we propose to make some changes to the fsx.cfg file and configure the nvidia graphics card with NVIDIA INSPECTOR. Specifically, I need to change some parameters such as "antialiasing transparency supersampling" or "maximun pre-rendered frames". When I "apply the changes", apparently it seems that these are saved, but when I re-examine the FSX configuration with nvidia inspector I see that these parameters have not been changed and instead "Use the 3D application setting" appears. I have tried to make these changes directly from the "nvidia control panel -> control the 3d configuration". But I keep appearing "use the settings of the 3D application." Is it possible that I can not change these parameters because I have activated the G-SYNC option? (I have a monitor asus rog pg270q) What is more recommendable, let G-SYNC apply the changes that you consider appropriate or deactivate this option and continue with the manual changes proposed in the tutorial? Thank you very much in advance regards
May 13, 20188 yr Recommend downloading the AVSIM FSX Configuration Guide. It has the answers to all of your questions. You cannot edit both the NI and the main Nvidia Control Panel. One or the other. Guide has the best settings for AA. Throw away G-Sync. Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! May 14, 20188 yr Old guides were fine for old computers, but once past the Core2 series of CPU's, you are better off using the guide found here at AvSim. My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.
May 14, 20188 yr First, try running the NVIDIA Control Panel (or NVIDIA Profile Inspector) as administrator and then set the options you want. If that doesn't work, fully uninstall the graphics drivers, reboot your system and re-install the drivers using the "clean install" advanced option in the installer. I would avoid installing GeForce Experience as that often causes more problems than it solves. i7-14700k | Asus ROG STRIX Z790-F Gaming WIFI | 32GB DDR5 RAM | MSI RTX 4080 Super | WD Black SN850X 1TB & 2TB | Corsair HX1000i ATX3.0 | MSI MAG401QR 40" monitor | Win 11 Pro 64-bit | Meta Quest 3
May 16, 20188 yr Author Good night friends First of all, thank you for your time to help me. I have followed all the advice you have given me. Firstly I could not disable GSYNC to be able to manage all the necessary changes from NVIDIA INSPECTOR. Then, I had to update the Nvidia drivers and finally, I could disable the gsync option. After reconfiguring the fsx.cfg and making changes in nvidia inspector and the settings of fsx, I can tell you that the game works great. Again thank you very much everyone. regards
