July 1, 200619 yr OK....Sounds pretty easy.Tell me...just how many TEXTURE SETS are there? AND if I wanted to load everything GE Pro had on one shot, how long would it take on average (assuming a relatively fast system)? Stan
July 1, 200619 yr >on another subject, I downloaded the Pro>last nite, and the coupon, but did not finish the purchase as>was confused as to how the coupon gets the>discount............maybe others have some question, anybody>have a simple answer, again thanks for this help B2L8When you enter your information in the Flight1 Wrapper, hit the button that says "coupon" and then direct it to the coupon you downloaded. It really is that simple. Hope this helped.
July 1, 200619 yr I'm trying to understand from all of the above if I can have GE Pro loaded in a way that allows me to load FS9, set up a flight, download real weather and just go. Do I need to exit first and run flightplan and weather through GE first? It seems like a lot of extra steps.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
July 1, 200619 yr As many as you want - it's a user-selectable option. Try `3` across the board for starters. It's the creation of those texture sets that takes the time, not the installation into the sim. On my mid-range box it took 18 minutes per set of ground textures, for a total of 4,566667 hours of processing (you get a nice little report from GE Pro when that little job completes!). Set it to run as you go to bed, wake up with it all done! After that the selection and installation of the set, metar-dependant, is just a few seconds. If anything, it's slightly quicker than with GE.Oh, and you can create many more sets of sky textures, as these take only seconds to create.Allcott
July 1, 200619 yr I hate to admit it but I did hit the coupon button and answered yes, but the charge came thru for full amount........suppose that I missed something, but did write to Flt1 cust service, they have always been super on fixing things so hope this is no exception B42L8 On another subject, do I have to uninstall the 1.08 GE before installing the Pro?? I started ASV, then per another post, I started GE Pro, then FS....got a popup saying "not enough Memory"........had to quit ASV, the FS started.....but the Tracker 4 went crazy..........any great ideas what has changed with the Pro install?? Appreciate all the ideas from other users....THANKS
July 2, 200619 yr Hi Peter,Downloaded Pro today without a problem. Let the computer generate a few 'sets', checked them out, and everything looks great. Here is a pretty big shortcoming for me though: I typically fly GA, in 'out of the way' places, i.e. sometimes removed from major metropolitan area's. What I seem to see is a very abbreviated list of cities in which I can get METAR's for. I wanted to go pick-up on a flight leg I was making in West Virginia this evening around the Blue Ridge Mountain area. Unfortunatly I cannot seem to find any METAR locations for this area....Morgantown WV, Clarksburg WV, Greenbrier Vally...etc etc. None of these area's are included as a selection. I even went up to see if Wheeling was there, then Charleston WV...neither are listed.Looking through the list, it seems most of the airport locations are in 'more populated' areas. This is really a shame, as I don't typically fly in these larger area's.Is there a plan to expand this list?As much as I like what I see, I like to fly in as real conditions as possible. and having to select an airport 200+ miles away seems to defeat the purpose for me.Thanks in advance.
July 2, 200619 yr If I am correct Carl is updating the airport list, he is really on top of things so I would expect an update pretty soon. You may want to post the same question on the Flight1 simforums, tho;-)
July 2, 200619 yr Thanks Anthony. I already had posed the same question on the F1 forum, and Carl indicated he working on this.IMO, this needs a big improvement. The connection to get updated METAR info is a bit unreliable at this time. And without that bit of the program operating correctly, it really does not allow Pro to do what it should.
July 2, 200619 yr you can do it the way you want. You'll still see GE PRO sky and ground textures.Just select a set of textures you like as a default and leave them there and never change them again.I must admit I do it that way a lot myself because I don't always want to fly in a specific condtion like overcast or extra sunny.
