You have (had?) two ADEs for Newcastle--both of which you (perhaps unknowingly) installed...one was installed with the ORBX FTX England regional scenery, the other with the UK2000 Newcastle scenery.  That, right there, is your problem!

That has been the case for weeks. I have made no change in the UK2000 EGNT scenery or anything to do with orbx (both were installed some time ago and worked well with each other).

When you put a second scenery over another, there is a tangled morass of exclusions, conflicting/overlapping objects, etc.  One at a time is the Golden Rule...been like that in the MS based sims for a very long time.  As you discovered, getting rid of the ORBX ADE allowed the UK2000 one to work properly.

Although I'm not sure how relevant it is (since I didn't create a second /overlapping objects file, the UK2000 one was always higher in ranking in the scenery objects list... So why did gsx default to another file - it didn't let me change what file it was going to use for egnt, nor had I done anything on the system to tell it to...

The one thing I have installed on my system lately has been EditVoicepack. Perhaps you can tell me why this would tell gsx to use a different file for egnt?

Anyway; it is software that's got its minor problems, but now I have it running I will attempt to keep it that way. The only thing that worries me is that egnt is my 'home'  airport that I usually use with p3d. But why has it created this problem with just this airport? I have visited one or two since and they've been fine - its the problem just with egnt for me or am I going to get it loads?

How does Moses make his coffee? Hebrews it.

I took the shell off my racing snail, thinking it would make him run faster. If anything, that made him more sluggish.

Man, I don't even know where to start.  I just wrote a reply, deleted it, and then wrote a PM and deleted it. Now that I have the bit of anger one or two posts in this thread triggered, I'll just say this:

Umberto is one of the very best developers in the flight sim community, and his products (especially GSX) are absolutely first rate!  Moreover, it was only after spending a lot of time with Umberto in Las Vegas (I was working the FS Reborn booth next to his) that I really got to know him.  Despite the impression he sometimes mistakenly gives in his forums (which I learned was due to language differences rather than his personality), he is a very nice, respectful and extremely helpful developer.

I believe I have a reputation of doing everything I can to ensure that every product I recommend publicly, and I couldn't possibly recommend a product more than GSX.

Oh, and Gary?  I suspect the extra/conflicting AFCADs are from your AI Traffic program.  If you go to the forum and/or documentation for the product you're using, it should tell you why it does this and how to circumvent it.

Best wishes to everyone.

You can't possibly blame GSX for your sim having duplicate Ade files that you have added with various scenery. That falls directly back on each user to properly keep their sim properly setup and maintained.
