One More Time - Signature Images

Featured Replies

Come on folks... these rules have been around since December of 2002. Please adhere by them. If, after reading this, you do not alter your signature images to align with our policies, then we will consider your lack of adherence to them as being your refutation of our rules. In other words, "screw you AVSIM, I'll do as I please". And of course, we'll lock you account accordingly. And, I am not bluffing. We are getting really tired of those who want to play here, but not play by our rules.QUOTE FROM DECEMBER, 2002:We have evaluated the use of signature images on the AVSIM forums and have established new policies that go into effect immediately. The reasons for this change has everything to do with speed of message load and appearance. Please implement these changes immediately, if you do use images in your signature.1.) The image can be animated, but shall not exceed the 10 Kbytes sizeYou can use text in your signature, but the use of any image shall adhere to the above. Thank you for your co-operation.UNQUOTE

""screw you AVSIM, I'll do as I please""Having a crummy day Tom? :-hahAllow me to tell you how to brighten up your day in the quickest and nicest manner. I'll give you some restaurant suggestions to eat, and since you live in the U.S., these restaurants are all available in your country.1- If you want breakfast: International House Of Pancakes. Plain and simple. These guys make the biggest, tastiest breakfasts ever. As there motto says, come hungry, leave happy. They make some of the best omelletes ever, and they make some fantastic chocolate pancakes too. Chocolate milk is the best drink to go with their pancakes, but they also have "bottomless" cups of coffee too. Another excellent suggestion is Denny's, who have some excellent breakfast platters as well.2- If you want lunch or dinner: KFC make some very tasty and satisfying mashed potatoes and chicken bowls. Another excellent suggestion is Long John Silver's, who make some really excellent seafood platters. My advice is to eat their fish fillets with vinegar and black pepper, a very tasty treat.Back on topic.... Now for some humorous questions regarding the signature image rules. These questions aren't meant to be taken seriously, and I hope that you find them to be amusing:1- Are people allowed to put raunchy or naughty images in their signature images, such as a steamy image of Pamela Anderson Lee?2- Is there a rule for signature images against the display of violent images, such as a guy being mauled by a cat, or a guy being sucked into a jet engine? To the members of our forums, Tom has a real point in what he's saying. Please listen to Tom.Regards,

I think Tom is allowed to break his own rules mate. :-)

So, if I understand you correctly, Tom - my sig is in violation per the single image reg? I ask because I see many supporters of various products that include multiple images such as mine.Thanx,VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpghttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg

>>I think Tom is allowed to break his own rules mate. :-)>>With all due respect, do as he says but not as he does?>>>Since he's the one that pays the bills so we can use this wonderful resource yes. You have to remember your in his house when your here. If he wants to have a signature 10X what he allows fo us, we have nothing to say about it. My guess though is his is oversized by mistake, and he'll probably correct it. (One of the admins also was oversized by mistake and he corrected it.) Visually his sig (and the site admin's) didn't look that big, and in both cases was larger in one dimension (vertical) while undersized by at least half in the other, so I could see how that got by. What he is going after are the ones that are unmistakably oversized, and ones with more than 1 sig.

Thanks

Tom

yes, only one image allowed. You can of course combine them into one.And yes, many people are in violation. But I guess the moderators have better things to do than hunt them all down unless it gets out of hand (which was what caused this rule, at one point people have 500KB+ of sigs taking up half a screen for each one line message they posted).

Hi Vic,Yes it is, as was mine for too long. Feel free to use text like I do until we run out of characters.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://dot.kelder.net:8080/fseconomy/

You are absolutely correct Tim. The offending image is now gone. I don't do "do as I say, not as I do". God forbid that we have an uproar over my signature image.

That's a great idea to combind them and if one has photoshop or paintshop it is an easy thing to accomplish................Randy J. Smith................CAUTION! My views represent no one but my own.
