Yuck: Murky Weather Bremerton to Skagit

Recommended Posts

First flight in my new Bonanza.  I've got no GPS, I'm flying the needles and it's mostly IMC on a short hop from Bremerton Natl PWT to Skagit KBVS in the Pacific NW.

My routing was a radar vector onto V165 to ISLND, then from there I shot the NDB Ry 11 at KBVS with a circle to land to Ry 4.  The whole thing was tricky due to a monster ssw wind (it was lovely aloft - had a ground speed of 202!!)...  I had a crosswind for the entirety of the non precision approach.

Even without GPS the aircraft is well-equipped for IFR with dual nav/comm, ADF and DME.

Headed towards Penn Cove CVV the weather is pretty murky

A pretty wide circle to land Ry 4 (not within standards but my first landing in a crosswind!)

Thanks Lennie.  Again I apologize for the jpeg compression... it appears the forums are doing it automatically.  On orbx site they aren't compressed.  This site used to be great too but something changed.

Thanks everyone

I haven't tried stalling yet though I did have a power setting issue on climb and almost stalled it.

Whats the yawing back and forth effect called?  Dutch roll?
