That's actually a really good question.  I'm running HT off right now because of cooling concerns on my 8700K but may want to re-allocate cores for P3D and addons, so interested also to hear feedback from HT off users.

Not a wise thing to switch off HT with only an quadcore IMO.

Get P3D with AM=6 to the last three cores and hope your addons have enough space on Core 0

6 would only use 2 cores. For 3 cores with HT disabled, you'd want 14 or 7.

You're right, sorry for my typo.

Strange thing is I find it  a little more fluid with ht off.

so your saying insert AM=14

in cfg file

then process lasso to allocate all addons in 0?

thanks

That’s the point it’s too complicated for me.

Especially when Steve chimes in lol

You can for a first shot relocate the other programm with PL, better would be with native AM setting if the addons have them or with a batch file to let the windows scheduler do his job (and he does at best).

FWIW, on both my 3770 and 7700 I run ht off and no AM - lock at 20 and never look back.

You can read hundreds of posts on the subject and come to the same conclusion as @mikeymike - I read post after post from users asking which is "best" for my system - not trying to be a smart aleck but  - whichever works for you.

Start by running no AM and no HT regardless of your processor - make NO other changes to your system and fly for a week as you normally do. Then enable HT and repeat - then add an AM that uses all cores except the first one - and so forth.

Making a change and taking a single flight or two proves nothing, IMHO; Get out of testing mode and go into flying mode where you are trying to enjoy the flight as opposed to looking for issues. In flioghtsims you will always find some issue caused by scenery, aircraft, add-on or something else.

As someone once said - stop tweaking and start flying.

I switched HT off after reading that "long thread" and no longer have the blurries and have tons of FSP but then I have the i7 8086.  Still, I was getting more blurries with HT on.  I would forget about using AM.  I monitor my cores during flight via AIDA64 and Corsair Link and none of the cores are all being used 100%.  They all fluctuate between 40 and 75.  Maybe once, for a fraction of a second, I will see an 80 figure but that's it.  The load on the CPU stays around 75 too after P3D is loaded.
