Instant crash upon setting Ultra water

Featured Replies

If I try setting water to ultra in the sim, P3D immediately crashes. Any setting below that is fine. Does anyone else get this crash?

I have GTX 1080, not OC’d, and I’m on some slightly older drivers to avoid the DX device hung errors.

I have some airport sceneries that do not like the ultra water setting, but they do not cause crashes.

Confirmed, driver version 411.63

Had a crash yesterday also on 411.63. Updated my Realtek sound driver to 8541, and Nvidia to 411.70. All seems well now again. I found 411.63's a bit unstable in different games on my system.

It may be driver related.

Using ultra water can often cause the video card to drop out of P0 power state and use a lower one with associated lower clock frequency. Check that this is not happening with nvideo inspector.
