First a disclaimer: I have never used ebay, so i don't know much about how it works. But just so i understand: Is it illegal to sell your copy of a program to someone else? Could I sell my copy of fs9 on ebay if I purchase fsx? (this from someone who still has the 3.25 disks from FS 2 or something still in a drawer somewhere). Obviously I understand and oppose piracy, but I've seen people selling their copy of an d/l aircraft in the Swap meet section of this site, as i recall. just curious.

Greetings!Generally speaking, it is not illegal at all to sell a boxed piece of software (like FS9), provided you delete the installation and all its bits 'n bobs from your own computer.In individual cases the EULA might cover this issue in either a contrary or a more extensive way, in which cases the EULA usually takes precedence over my general statement above. I say "usually", because it is imaginable that (parts of) a EULA may be null and void on account of legislation in the country where the alleged transactions are taking place.As for dowloaded software... well, BASICALLY it should be the same as for boxed software. However, here are not only activation issues involved, but also more possibilities for the creepy crawlies to pirate away happily, as is already happening far too often. I'd say: when in doubt, email the vendor or producer, tell them what you consider doing, and ask their point of view. It never hurts to communicate.Be well!Jaap Verduijn.
