November 14, 20187 yr Author Hi guys, Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I am using a 48'' 4K TV @3840x2160x32. Yes, I am expecting better smoothness, higher LOD radius, and improvements with anti-aliasing and dynamic lighting. But no, London is one of the most fantastic and beautiful cities in Europe... but I don't expect any improvement flying around EGKK or EGLL in P3D V4 ;-). RAM: Yes, you are right regarding latency. My first idea was to increase bandwidth at the cost of timings to ensure higher CPU overclocking but I will cancel my order and keep my 3200MHz CL14 until the G.Skill Trident 4133 MHz CL 17 are available here (1 month) or even wait for the new G.Skill CL 17 series next January. CPU: My current one is a 650W purchased in 2011. It is time for a well deserved retirement. I have not less than 16 devices connected to the internal/external USB ports, + 6 fans + GPU and CPU water-cooling and I plan to go SLI some day (I also use my PC for 4K videos editing), if my wife doesn't throw me away from home before.... A 800 or 900W should be more than enough today. But maybe not tomorrow and CPUs are not a negligible component. So I was looking for the Corsair 1200W to keep a good security margin but it is out of stock. With its 10 years warrantee, the AX1600i will be the only component I will never worry about until I'll be completely senile.😁 Edited November 14, 20187 yr by David Roch - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.
November 14, 20187 yr About the PSU - don't forget that in comparison home room heaters draw 1500 watts. Do your lights dim if you have an electric heater? You may want to check your electrical circuit to make sure it can handle that kind of load without overheating or blowing breakers. Enjoy your new rig! November 14, 20187 yr David--I think you have the same eVGA P4-2383 RTX2080Ti GPU that I have coming, and they (eVGA) have a bundle deal for a normally $500 1600W Titanium-rated PSU for $150. I saw somewhere on their site that price was for all current and former purchasers of that card...so if you haven't already gotten that PSU, it might be worth checking there. I currently have one of their 1000W modular supplies and really like it...the self-diagnostic circuit in it saved my bacon last build when I had a backplate shorting to the case--it just clicked and refused to power up rather than smoking something. November 16, 20187 yr Author Thanks for the tip Bob but this deal is not available here in Israel. Anyway, the PSU is already installed in my IN WIN huge case together with the water-cooling system, waiting for the other components to arrive tomorrow or Monday.
