AI2UTL Injector - Public Beta

when you use the AddOnlyMissing parameter set to false, all matching UTLive repaints are replaced by FLAi ones, except in case no alternative repaints are found. What happens to UTL existing repaints in this case, are they still going to show in sim?.

They are left unchanged and still included in UTL, at least that should be the case.
You can simply check it by opening the AI2UTL result xml file (or the new repaints.xml) in Notepad and search for the aircraft type. You should find the entry.

Got an P3Dv4.3 AppHangB1 error after changing locations from my test airport SVMC (very light on AI aircraft) to LIML Milano Linate

What happens if you go directly to Linate?
I can't test/check since I only have Malpensa.

Pretty much strange because it needs only to add a empty blank line on the first [fltsim.0] entry (after the /// remark). I didn't get thru all other one.

Thank for your support.

My guess that is because AI2UTL apparantly only included the [fltsim.0] repaint and thus only checked the blank line above [fltsim.0].
You can check if the log contains only one or more entries of that specific aircraft.cfg.

Hi Egbert, let your great program run and it replaced 846 repaints. Very excellent, thanks!

Have not tested this case, since to me changing airports is something I do very frequently.

All I can say is that when I put back the original repaints.xml UTLive file in place, I can go everywhere without issues. Something to think about.

Not knowing the inner working of UTL, I don't have a clue.
Nevertheless, released V1.0.0.4, which limits the maximum injected liveries to 5 for an aircraft <-> carrier combination.
(i.e. if there are found 15 liveries for a KLM B738, only the first 5 a injected)
Maybe UTL can't cope with too many available liveries, I dunno.

Also I noticed that FLAi makes use of texture subfolders in the aircraft.cfg like 'texture=FFT_Frontier\301'
Never seen these texture 'sub-folders' before. Maybe that is causing issues for UTL. Again I dunno.
Someone?

Use the link in the first posting to download V1.0.0.4

Hi Egbert, don't know either, but your logic is right, I think. I'll try the new build.

Btw, the link is still showing v1.0.0.3

Thanks, Ed

I have manually added more than 20 ai a/c  (most of them FAIB) with at least 50 liveries. What would happen if I run the AI2UTL Injector? Would it be reversible?

Just make a copy of your current repaints.xml file located C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Flight One Software\utLive\Data and try it out.

Thanks Dave, I should have known this.

Another questions, what happens when a newer version of FLAI appears. Do we simply run the injector again?

I did my first run. No errors reported.

But, the injector did not do any change in the replacement.xml. What goes wrong?

Hello Egbert:

I was able to successfully inject a lot of FLAi repaints and then test in P3Dv4.3 without any issues. Apart of the changes you did for v1.0.0.4:

1. Reduced the number of FLAi repaints from the original downloaded zip file from 156 to 79. I deleted (or did not use) those which were not included in your original dhq.ai2utl.search-codes.json file and those which represents aircraft models I don't want to replace (either because they are not common or not seen in traffic very often, or are of no interest to me. All this help to reduce the load of AI traffic aircraft in the simulator, which I think was the root cause of a P3D hang-up the other time when I was testing changing airports to Milano-Linate (JetStream Design's very AI crowded scenery).

2. Edited the dhq.ai2utl.search-codes.json file to eliminate all entries related to the aircraft models that I'll not use according to point 1 before, and also to eliminate all entries like this "AiCode": "", (line "empty", see below, which is a typical one eliminated):

{
    "UtlCode": "143",
    "AiCode": "",
    "SearchIn": "FLai;MISC"
  },

I don't know if points 1 and 2 above would make sense to you, but the fact is that now everything seems to be working just fine here!.

If you have any comments or questions, please let me know.

Cheers, Ed
