ORGANIZED thread for FSX demo issues

Recommended Posts

-edit- soundproblem solved with less hardware accel.I've searched for sound issues but didn't find any. The atc sounds often only produce a loud noise. The flapsound also sometimes is just this noise. When going from spotview to the VC i get this noise too sometimes. dxdiag soundtest and config. seem to be oke?Overall demo experience is great! Never before had such a smooth MSFS flight time, even with just 12 fps sometimes. Is it possible to make the fixed spotview really fixed? I mean, in FS09 i was used to the spotview that's fixed in the same direction so it doesn't turn with the aircraft.Regards, Gerrithttp://members.chello.nl/g.kranenbarg/gwkh...s/bluesmall.gif

I am having a problem with the Matrox Parhelia card. I ran the demo on my laptop (NVIDIA) card and it ran fine. FPS was pretty good and they have really improved the cloud processing. Can't wait for DX-10 and Vista! Thanks!Barry

I've been very critical, but there are also great things....See attachment FSX_OK.jpgThoug the issue with the non-existing overcast remains..See attachments... FSX_not_OK.jpg is supposed to be a overcast between the plane and the ground...AC5

Don't know if this has been pointed out before anywhere.. here it is.Look at the fence in this picture. Something is not right.. Its not a solid fence.. so you can see whats behind it...except the trees that are behind it.Mannyhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/153912.jpg

FSX Demo Full Screen 1280x1024x32Windows Vista B2 x86 build 5384ATI beta catalyst driver radeon 9600XTAMD 64 3500+ 2x512mbWhen changing graphics settings after clicking "OK", the screen goes black with cursor. Disk activity is occuring. Eventually, a "loading complete" window pops up an instant before the new view is rendered. In WinXP it seems like I got a progress bar to indicate something was happening on a scenery refresh. recommend providing an indication like this so user knows app is still running.Note: understand readme vista display mode limitation. In test in windowed mode, sometimes demo works, sometimes it doesn't (after attempting to entre free flight. Inital setup windows work.) Often there is no keyboard or mouse input into the app in windowed mode. Will restest after getting RC1 build.scott s..

http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/153924.jpgI just noticed this while flying the Ultralight and not sure if anyone else has documented this but I'll go at it anyhow...Have a look at my attachment and notice that you can see the shadow and the ground and you can see the ground through the ultralight's windshield but you cannot see the shadow on the ground through the ultralight's windshield (if you understood that confusing statement)

Okay here's a few graphics bugs/issues on my rig. They always seem to be in the form of a circle. Inside the circle the effects seem to work outside the circle the effects quit working.PC Specs:Athlon XP 2400+ cpu1gig DDR 2100 ramGeForce FX 5900SE 128mb graphics (latest drivers)DX 9cMy FSX settings config file is attached...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/153949.txtGray and Rainy (Wet Runway)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/153934.jpgMid Dayhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/153935.jpgMid Dayhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/153936.jpgMid Nighthttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/153937.jpg

Yes, I was thinking, what the heck is that music :-) Just not used to it. Then I realized we'll get a slew of new plug in music themes. I'm waiting for the early '80s post punk version :-)I'll have to check out how you did it. Hope it is a list of .wavs or whatever, so we can send lists around w/o the music to keep it all legal. (don't you hate lazy posters who don't investigate their questions/comments first?)Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)

Yes, this was evident in that when you went from high density Autogen to sparse the FPS remained low. If you went to none it rest and the FPS returned in sparse to an expected level (bad on mine).Dick Boley

>>Gear:>Although this has been addressed before: I'd like to have>additional commands for "gear up" / "gear down" (using CH>yoke).Try textediting the controls standard.xml file to add: select key hereGEAR_DOWNselect key hereGEAR_UPwhere "select key here" is the appropriate keyboard key combo. if your CH can output keystrokes, or change ..to 8 where "8" is the DirectInput button for your CH,and place in joystick section, not keyboard_main.Haven't tried this, just guessing.scott s..
