December 13, 20187 yr Hello: Two questions on Panning: 1. I know there is a way to adjust the Panning speed (make it more sensitive/finer) but I cannot figure out how to do it...Can someone advise? 2. Is there a keyboard setting that will "snap" the panel back to center after panning around? Thanks a lot.... Steve 7 Miles NW of KGCK
December 13, 20187 yr Look in key bindings for "look (reset to forward view)" and bind it to whatever key you want. I think the default is something like shift-(numberpad)delete, but that's kind of an obnoxious combo for something you'll use a lot. You can also bind it to a joystick button if you prefer. Not at flight system but IIRC hitting the "5" key on the numpad will center outside view. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

Yes you can change the default pan speeds in views by editing the P3D camera.cfg file. However if you are not famailiar with how to do this and I strongly suggest using Notepad ++ to open, edit and save the changes I would not recommend messing around. If you are comfortable editing config files here’s where the adjustment is: P3D’s camera.cfg [cameradefinition.002] Virtual Cockpit PitchPanRate=30 I use =15 to slow it down HeadingPanRate=75 I use 25 to slow it down [cameradefinition.004] Locked Spot Same two entries as above I use 15 for the Pitch value and 35 for the Heading value Again if you can’t find this file or know how to edit config files I don’t suggest doing so. If you proceed it’s a good item to make a backup first but if you actually delete the file and restart P3D I believe it will rebuild itself to defaults. Eyepoint reset - Ctrl + Space Complete List of the Prepar3D Commands http://uraster.com/de-ch/artikel/prepar3dcompletecommandslist.aspx From the Prepar3d v4 SDK under Software Development Kit | Cameras | Camera Configuration http://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv4/LearningCenter.php Pan settings in Cameras.cfg C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 Title = Virtual Cockpit PitchPanRate = 0.0 to 100.0 Default: 10.0 Controls the rate at which pitch is changed in degrees per second. Virtual Cockpit( PitchPanRate=20 ) HeadingPanRate = 0.0 to 100.0 Default: 30.0 Controls the rate at which heading is changed in degrees per second. Virtual Cockpit( HeadingPanRate=60 ) PanAcceleratorTime = 0.0 to 30.0 Default: 5.0 Pan acceleration time in seconds. When panning the camera, an acceleration/deceleration effect is added over a period of time. The larger this value is the longer it takes for the pan movement to reach its full rate (as controlled by PitchPanRate and HeadingPanRate), thus yielding smoother panning movement. Lower numbers yield more abrupt panning. Edited December 14, 20187 yr by BillS511
